| Makoto Shishio: best villain ever!! |
| Phew, I usually comment on every episode or at least every 9 out of every 10 but these last 4 were so intense I didn't want to stop watching for even a second! All in all, the entire finale lived up to its build-up just like the Manga and it was a joy to see this in anime-form. Saitou's ambush, Sano's desperation and AOSHI SHINAMORI's fight for time (man when he walked in with his theme song it was just too much!) were perfect. Not to mention the entire duel between Kenshin and Shishio, every single technique! Even when one was on the brink of death, and the other was way passed his body temperature time limit... their swordsman spirit was unparalleled. Shishio even went as far to even stab through Yumi to get a hit on Kenshin (that was a pretty sad death, but she really did truly love him until the end and was even proud). This was one of the best finales for me of all time, man that Amakakeru Ryu No Hirameki... I just feel like picking up my replica swords and wreaking havoc lol! Actually, it's not even over yet, they still have to escape the flames before we can celebrate right? They'll pull through for sure :) 5/5 |
| Hoji has cemented his position as the most annoying fuck off in the entire series. Gosh, I thought Yahiko and Kaoru could be annoying, but they've got nothing on him (and Kaoru has actually matured quite well, I confess). Aside from that, though, this episode was all kinds of messed up. From the sudden shock of Shishio killing Yumi to stab Kenshin to Shishio bursting into flames, it was all so... intense. Very sad, very awesome. The look on Kenshin's face after Shishio's flames consumed him truly resonated with me. Any other man (especially Saitou) would be relishing in his victory, but not Kenshin. Kenshin could only feel sorrow that he couldn't save Shishio. It was truly touching. |

| This is probably my favorite episode of the entire series. It's just so incredibly well directed. Also, not only is it epic, but really dark as well. Plus, I feel like this episode has the best looking animation of the entire series. They really packed it full of some great looking sakuga. :D Does anybody have any idea who the artist was for those parts? Oh man, also... that cliffhanger ending! >__< I mean, it's shounen, and there's more episodes to go, so you know they're definitely going to escape, but still... that's one hell of a way to end an episode, lol. |

Wow, Kenshin pulled through there were points where I thought he'd lose! This has been amazing. Shishio's lackey (I don't know his name) meltdown was amazing to watch, I was laughing so hard. All in all, a great fight has come to an end. |

| Wow... everyone seems to love this but I am sorry this was truly terrible in all matters. Ok so first of all... Shishio was fucking disappointing as hell. There was 0 build up to the character. They tried to build up his power by giving him strong underlings... but 1 gets beat by Kenshin when he has no sword... one gets beat by friggen Yahiko... and another gets beat by Kaoru. Like... weak. Like the fights with Sojro and Aoshi where WAY more hype because they had build up, they showed us how powerful they were prior to fighting Kenshin and gave us a sense of how strong they are and made us wonder how Kenshin could beat them. Then the actual fight with Shishio... he had nothing special about him. Like Kenshin had "the god speed" and could read people. Sano was super strong and had a lot of stamina, Sojro was even faster than Kenshin and had no emotions so he was hard to read but Shishio had nothing, he wasn't fast, he wasn't strong, he wasn't cunning, his sword light on fire because of the body oil from people that he killed, ok? That's not really something about him, that's just something about his sword. Anyone wielding his sword could do that. AND I gotta call BS on his stupid exploding gloves too... the explosion was strong enough to knock out and nearly kill Kenshin but wasn't strong enough to even singe the bandages on his hands that were at the center of the explosion? fuck that. Then Sano punches him in the face with enough force to shatter his hand using his special move that turns rocks into dust and Shishio goes "HAHAHA your power level isn't high enough so it doesn't affect me!" fuck you. Like seriously fuck you. That's complete bullshit. Kenshin wakes up and then goes super saiyan? He summons leafs in the desert cannon surrounded by fire that split as they get near him just like rocks do in DBZ. Come on... Oh, I am not done yet. Then Kenshin hits him with his ultimate move and with pretty much no delay Shishio gets back up again even though it was more powerful than the ones he hit the others with, but then Shishio he drops his sword and is clutching at his chest because he went past his limits and his insides were burning up, but apparently it was a ploy to catch Kenshin off guard so he could stab him? REALLY out of character there. Gawd that was incredibly disappointing to the point of frustrating. It's not even that it was an old series, it's just poor story telling. I can't see why people like this show. |

| Lookingi back at this episode I always remember how epic this episode really is, the whole fight is amazing example of how real shounen should be like. Its not about who makes more destruction with their op powers but who is more skilled with regular things. Shishio being amazing villain and the whole final Kenshins attack really makes this episode the highest point of Rurouni Kenshin, at least for me personally |
