Hello all
Beeing from french part, I can read and basically understand what you write in german, but can't simply type the slightest simple sentence... Sorry about that, so I'll do all in english.
I'm nearing 45y.o, male, and really have been in anime for like 2 years now... Ofc, when I was way younger, I watched anime on TV, but it's not really what I liked and then nothing kept me watching that kind of art... until only lately... So my earliest anime were Tom Sawyer, Goldorak, Cobra, Cat's eye, Saint Seiya, etc... as you can see they are not even listed in my list, as none of them were really something that made me fall in love with that art.
And then, while playing a MMO game, one of my mate, due to my kincky (usually) role playing behavior told me to take a look at some ecchi anime and gave me a list... and On that list, one that really made me laugh and got me sucked into that was Rosario Vampire. Ofc not the greatest, but funny and cute enough that I would watch more... so I continued on the ecchi line for a while... (which I still like, but hard to find funny and good ones, once you have seen the best ones...)
Now more open on all styles I like SoL, School life, musical, romantic, and humorous anime. I sometimes also like drama anime, but not too often... I need to laugh and smile first... I'm far less into combat or mecha anime. I ilke some combat as long as it's not completely ridiculous with all sorts of dumb & useless combat combo names and such, and it needs to have a nice story.
Overall, besides ecchi anime, I consider myself more likely to like a shōjo anime than a shōnen.
Add to that, that often we watch anime together with my sweet one, that even if she does like funny ecchi too, we are more on a common ground.
It's now the second year I have gone to Japan Impact in Lausanne, and I like the smaller conventions, so Polymanga will not be for me. I don't do cosplay, as I have other things I like where I spend money on, but I love to watch all the nice costumes and all the work and effort put into them.
Japan Impact was great fun this year, and saturday's evening live from Bridear was just a blast. If you like metal, and haven't heard of them give that girl band a shot.
Well there it is for my story. Hope to read from you all, and hopefully share some good stuff if chances are here. |
