Kadokawa opened an official website for an original anime project titled ID:Invaded on Thursday, revealing a visual (pictured) and a teaser promotional video. The anime series is scheduled for a 2020 premiere.

Ei Aoki—known for titles such as Ga-Rei: Zero, Fate/Zero, and Aldnoah.Zero—is directing the anime. Mystery and science fiction writer Outarou Maijou (Asura Girl, Suki Suki Daisuki Chou Aishiteru) is in charge of screenplay.

Aoki most recently directed Re:Creators in 2017, based on an original concept by manga author Rei Hiroe (Black Lagoon). The television anime was produced by TROYCA, an animation studio Aoki co-founded in 2013.

Maijou wrote and directed Ryuu no Haisha (The Dragon Dentist)—the first episode in Hideaki Anno's 2014 net anime series Nihon Animator Mihonichi (Japan Anima(tor)'s Exhibition)—which later inspired a two-part television special in 2017.

Shueisha launched Maijou and illustrator Arata Momose's psychological romance manga Kono Koi wa Kore Ijou Kirei ni Naranai. (Spotless Love: This Love Cannot Be Any More Beautiful.) on its Shounen Jump+ web manga portal in December 2018.

The person in charge of the story is actually good. I'll keep an eye out for this one.

Just like his other works, this will probably start out interesting and fresh but fizzle out into mediocrity just like Fate/Zero and RE:Creators.

Weird I thought both of those got better with time.

It's either going to be a hit or a miss.

Hiroyuki Sawano will probably be announced as the music composer eventually.

I would love more stories by Ryû no Haisha's creator. But this director...

(did Maijô dislike his directing experience for khara's short ?)
