Tuesday doesn’t really have a great taste in men, does she? Rather like Kyle, but not Carole’s right: careful round that type

The political plot doesn’t bother me as much, but I’d wish we get more interactions between Tao and Ertegun - they’re hilarious. And more Roddy!!!!

So I wasn't the only one that felt like this came out of nowhere ? How come Tuesday suddenly has a crush on the reporter dude. It has absolutely no development behind it. So dumb.

Thank you! That's exactly how I felt

So in this one episode Tuesday develops feelings for male version of herself and gets her heart broken. All in a single episode. Wouldn't it be nicer if that was an actual sublot instead of Ertigun and his shenanigans, or Gus' love interest who just dissapeared after her bit was over or any number of those pointless substories? Instead we get a single episode that lacks any actual substance.
Though I do want a glowing umbrella now to be honest, it looks pretty cool.

Well that came out of nowhere. Since when Tuesday fell in love with Kyle, did I miss something or did it happened just within this episode like it seems?

This anime keeps straying further away from the music with all of this subplots about politics, Angela's stalker and Tuesday felling in love with a journalist after 2 meetings, and I don't care that much about it.

I don't know about anyone else, but this episode kind of gave me at the end NANA-feelings? Remember that old anime/manga about two women named Nana and the other one pursuing musical career? Anyone? No? Okay.

But anyway, this episode felt like lighter version of NANA, because the main characters are much younger and it's obvious nothing TOO bad can happen to them…(I could be wrong, but ditto.) In a way it's frustrating, because now that the plot tries to make political statements and bring issues of stardom, I would honestly like if they would go further or try to take more realistic approach of everything, instead just ironing everything out (that in the end everything will be just FINE) and make it so episodic.

Like, in next episode Tuesday probably doesn't anymore remember Kyle. I would like her to make heartbroken love song about him or sort of, see Carole cheering her up along with Roddy or sort of. The only thing that has carried itself sort of 'well' has been the whole Angela's stalker side plot. Otherwise they keep pulling up weird 'theme of the day' things out of nowhere…'>.>

And seriously, it made me a bit lol when I did see everybody wearing an umbrella when was snowing and Tuesday's hair got wet, like gee. Talk about fast climate change. (But the glowing in those umbrellas? So cool!)

I get that Tuesday is hurt because Kyle has a girlfriend he didn't tell her about, but come on what was she expecting. The guy was only ever professional with her, aside from calming her down after the explosion (and he still maintained proper distance for a stranger), which he also did for other people who were at the scene. He never indicated any romantic affection for her, just that he liked her music. He wasn't obligated to tell Tuesday he has a girlfriend either, because he wasn't interested in her in the same way and couldn't really know she suddenly liked him that way. Getting heartbroken is sad but this is kind of dumb. It's like hoping for winning something you never filled out the application for :/

Loving how political it's getting tbh. People need to be more aware of how corrupt these systems can be and how far politicians can and will go to get elected. Tao becoming involved in the campaign will be interesting, too. He's a brain scientist, not just a music producer. I'm sure he's figured out a way to control thoughts and beliefs in people with certain music types and genres; I wonder how much that parallels the music industry in the real world. A scary thought.

I see some criticism here about Tue's crush coming out of nowhere, but it was fairly predictable to me. That light blush she gave when he told her to whisper into his good ear was like, "Ah, yeap, there it is. I knew it." I kind of wish it was fleshed out more, but yeah, whatever. The episodic approach worked for many of the subplots, but some of them, such as this and Carole's dad, needed more time.

I'm not feeling the Tuesday x Kyle thing but I'm gonna say that are you sure that was Kyle kissing that girl? What if it's another guy with the same hairstyle that looks like Kyle from the back? They've done this many times in Anime, manga, movies, Hollywood, etc. lol

I'm actually interested in the Angela stalker plot even though others find it bland. I don't trust anyone around her, even Dahlia, her own parent/manager.

Tuesday crushing on Kyle was kinda unnecessary, but it will help her character grow I'm sure. The political plot is alright. Pretty fucked up if Valerie's team actually went that far to bomb the weather facility. Nice bit of world building sneaking in there with the temperatures going down after the explosion.

I keep thinking this can't get more political but it always does. It's not as much of a political subplot than the director just grabbing the mic to comment on the current political climate. A little bit on the nose there.

Fortunately, I like political anime so I don't mind it.

I'm surprised to see so much criticism towards Tuesday's one-sided love. She's young and naive, she seems to have no romantic experience at all so yeah, she fell for the older charismatic reporter, who's always nice to her and interested in her story. Her crying under the snow was a bit too much (a bit too anime), otherwise it's a pretty common thing. I mean when I was young, I fell in love with basically any girl who spoke to me and I know I wasn't the only one.

I thought this was by far and away one of the weakest written episodes.

Here’s what I don’t get. Presuming the on-screen meetings are the only ones we’ve seen so far, Tuesday and Kyle have only spoken four times with the last two happening at this one restaurant. From how this episode played out, it seemed like she tried to surprise Kyle (didn’t inform him that she was coming).

If she didn’t inform Kyle she was coming to meet him, then what are the chances that he would be at the restaurant at that time, especially since the time she went there was much later in the day then she met him the last two times.

If she did inform Kyle in advance that she wanted to meet him, why the hell would he bring his gf/fiancée/wife? I mean, I used to be a journalist and I’d never bring my significant other to meet an interviewee. Secondly, if she was romantically interested in Kyle, why didn’t she ask him before if he was seeing anybody? Maybe it’s just one of those young, dumb 17-year-old things...

This plot device felt really forced, so much so that it took me completely out of the episode. I’m not trying to sound like a pretentious shill either because I’ve really enjoyed this show, but I’ll flat out admit that I HATED this episode. It was just too contrived to be believable for me.

Really nice final song/sequence in this episode but honestly Tuesday feels waaaaaay too strongly about a guy she's had a crush on for maybe one week, like she probably got hypothermia over a guy who she talked to three times lmao

I shouldn't be suprised anymore, but the way they handle the political stuff and romance stuff is ridiciously stupid.
I wish they would have chosen one important story as a start and make little stories around it. The show has completely lost its focus and tries to do everything just a little. Such a shame considering the posibilities it could have.

It completely took me by surprise that Tuesday fell for Kyle.

Like WHAT FOR? Cos he's blonde like her (Humans always attract to people who they find similar appearance wise which is stupid but true in a lot of cases) ? Cos he uses the same notebook like her? Cos he shared his story about how he became a reporter? Cos he said he changed his mind of finding out scandals about her mum cos of C&T's singing?

NONSENSE.

I feel so irritated how she felt heartbroken by his relationship with another woman. Yeah she likes him but that's based off 2 times of meeting this person alone which is stupid. The whole plot development was super forced.

Carole told her to be careful with this creepy blonde bearded journalist and Tuesday acted like an innocent sheltered girl who knows nothing and still went to meet him anyway. Well yeah she is totally sheltered due to her upbringing and she's only 17 (I'm 28 so I guess that's a hell gap of age difference). Still...I thought the anime was amazing till this plot twist for Tuesday totally killed my view on Tuesday. Like I was neutral about her before because to me she's doll-like, sings well and brave enough to chase her dream by escaping the house. But not street smart enough and naive.

I guess to me being naive is a turn off but then again I was also naive when I was 17...I guess this plot is needed for Tuesday's character development. I am just gonna keep watching and see what happens at the end.

It's so wild how people were mixing up Carole and Tuesday. But honestly, the whole side with Tues crushing on Kyle made me want to slam my face against the wall. It really came out of nowhere and lasted for two seconds contributing nothing to the story. If it was for Tuesday's development I can't see it being that impactful. Like, what would she even learn or gain from the experience? Kyle didn't lead her on or even give hints of ill intentions. I didn't pick up on that at least. He seemed to just be interested in doing his job and he was nice about it. So, it was really annoying and boring to watch. Tuesday's character tends to disappoint me and I wish Carole would get as much attention as the series tends to show her friend.

Angela is another great character I enjoy everytime she comes around. The part with her and that stalker was the most interesting part. Seeing Tao shine in the midst of her new drama was perfect. If any romance enters the series I prefer these two 100%.

Now, the political aspect was way boring. I can see it having importance to the characters down the road, but it is getting in the way of the music. Which some would say makes it realistic or even great. But, it only really killed my vibe.

Ertegon getting back on his feet made me like his character a lot more and I hope to see him often.

Heartbreak songs aare incoming now I guess. When admiration turned to love, Tuesday lost it all in single moment.

On the otherhand Angela is having a hard time with her stalking fan. That obsession is really something to be feared. Also it seems that Tao is gonna be the nest big pawn on the political chessboard.
I honestly wasn’t feeling the romance too much. Guy is old enough to be her dad and she’s still a minor, so I’m glad it got nowhere.

Ugh.
Tuesday crushing on the reporter felt so out of place, like the dude never lead her on, he was just being kind to her and that’s it.
Also, did the thought of him already being in a relationship never crossed her mind?
It kinda felt pleasant for me when she saw the guy kissing the other girl haha, I feel like she needed to a reality check.

Like many, I'm getting off from the hype train since last episode. And this one is even worse.

Why does one needs to always get into thinking everything needs a deeper plot ? Why do we need that useless political stuff in there...
Jeeze, ep. 18. six more at this pace and I will better understand why this anime is so low rated compared to what seemed a masterpiece to me all the way up to half of it (and a bit more)

Go deeper on that road and you'll make me forget almost all the good things from the start and I may end up dropping a 6, which is already bad in my standards, but just for the fact that to me, as said, up to past the mid of this anime it was a 10 all the way.
If all the anime was like those last 2 episodes, I would go for no more than a 5 or even a 4, what is then getting borderline to a drop for me.

Tuesday has shown she can get carried away with her dreams as a result of having a sheltered childhood. A crush on a guy who is willing to listen, is sympathetic and more understanding of her circumstance than most, should not be too much of a surprise. Kyle has been doing his thing as a journalist but hasn't shown a romantic interest in her. Like her interactions with Cybelle, Tuesday will get hurt from approaching new relationships with an idealistic perspective that is especially risky when in showbiz, but she will know better as she learns life lessons along the way, especially with Carole by her side.

The sub-plots here may seem superficial but they add weight to the songs in the show - stories in life are what authentic songs are born from. I find myself impressed often by how the characters are written in this show, with melodrama minimised, complex personalities, and naturalistic reactions that are refreshing to see in anime. While I do think the writers are being a little over-ambitious with the time they have to work with, I would much rather have this than another dominating competition arc, or a rivalry based on songs that don't match the characters.
