It's my personal favourite and Origination is in my top 10 favourite Anime list. I absolutely adore the setting, the music, the atmosphere, the world-building, the calm and peaceful vibe to it all and especially the way Origination handles its characters and particularly the final episode, which was just fantastic.

It’s a progenitor of slice of life, but it’s not exactly a series I particularly like, considered the other SoL series we have nowadays, and I’m someone who does like my share of SoL. I do think it’s at least a classic that everyone should try out, especially if one is more curious about the precedessirs of their favorites.

Aria is a cool but doesnt come close to Akage no Anne which goes much deeper in the genre of slice of life and coming of age

Yep, still one of my only four 10/10s after many years. A perfect finale to a perfect series. Haven't seen an iyashikei with a better cast and stronger emotional payoff.

Aria has a way of healing that other slice of life shows have yet to come close to imo, and with the abundance of episodes that Aria has, it just feels like the show has so much to offer to those looking for this type of thing

One of my favorite things about Aria - it's completed story with many seasons, OVAs and specials. It's like Hidamari Sketch or Minami-Ke. And it's cool.

Aria is absolutely my favourite slice of life series. If we don’t consider animes such as Violet Evergarden and Clannad as mainly “slice of life” as I consider them much more as dramas, then it has to be Aria for me. Aria is the slice of life that makes me laugh the most, awes me the most, and makes me cry the most, and nothing in the pure slice of life genre can challenge it for me.

It’s between this, K-ON, and Non Non Biyori. However K-ON isn’t really a Iyashikei(healing-type) like the other two but either way they are all SOL that I found pretty damn good in comparison to other SOL that I forget in about a week, just kinda sad Aria gets almost no attention besides the little community of SOL lovers but hopefully this new movie coming out will shed some light onto others about how amazing this series is.

Slice of Life is too broad of a genre IMO, a lot of shows can fall into that category, my higest rated show with this genre tag would be Bakuman.

Now if people ask me what my favorite "CGDCT" show is, Aria is definitely the answer.

Saiki K and Aria the Origination are the best combination in my favorites.

But Aria made me dislike Battle Shounens.

Slice of Life: Yes, particularly the third season.
Iyashikei: No. That honour goes to Mushishi, but Aria is a close second. :)

As much as I love Aria, my soul is forever trapped in the March Town. Probably my second or third most favorite?

Yes, it is the best slice of life I watched in all anime!
Reviewing is not easy.

Nah, the goat of slice of life is either Ranma 1/2 or Haruhi Suzumiya.

Well, for several other people it actually is, it's very highly acclaimed & liked series in general, but to me it's in fact one of the worst slice-of-life anime I've ever, genuinely one of the most excruciatingly boring experiences I've ever had whilst watching anime and I truly regret spending all the time I spend finishing this whole series.

To elaborate my reasons on why I hate the seriesso muchI'd just wanna copy paste my post regarding this from another thread:

Excruciatingly boring and dull to me in every way possible. Most of the girls possess a very similar personality compared to each other to other without much of a difference notable between them, like basically displaying the very archetypical pretty & cute type of personality, which makes the characters dynamics painfully shallow, monotonous and lacking in any kind of variety. I mean a cast comprising of characters with differing/various personalities in comparison to each other, where each character compliments the different personalities of the others around helps in creating a tight-knit, varied and interesting group dynamic....which the Aria series severely lacked in every way as pretty much all the girls just act in a similar way and display the very same type of personality all the time, giving a sense of blatant monotonous-ness within their character dynamics which genuinely felt VERY boring & uninteresting. Alongside that, we have the ugly comedic deformed face-gags that feel so distracting because they just don't seem like naturally fitting with the personalities of the girls; I mean the usage of comedic gags does work out in many cases to provide nice comic relief moments, but for Aria the girls were portrayed in a way that it seemed like the primary appeal of their character were in way that they are supposed to be pretty & endearing, they hardly displayed much comedic traits in the personalities otherwise which is why those comedic gag momemts genuinely felt so forced. Add to this all those individual catchphrases of the girls which they continue to repeat & recycle throughout the entire over & over, that too very frequently as well, as a result of which those catchphrases come off very repititive, grating & annoying progressively throughput the course of the series. All of these issues combine to an utterly dull, boring & uninteresting display of slice-of-life that just fails to be captivating and immersive in any way. I'm in generally quite a fan of the slice-of-life genre and have enjoyed several acclaimed titles from the genre a lot as well, but the Aria series as a whole was genuinely one of the most tediously boring & disappointing experiences I've ever had watching anime.

Rated the entire series 1/10 and I doubt I'll change my mind on that.

No hard feelings to anyone who enjoyed the series though, I do respect the series for the influence it has had on its fans. But it's because of my dry, tedious experience with the whole series, alongside the fact that I found so many aspects that I actively disliked about it as aforementioned, that I bear such a strong personal dislike towards the series.

I had a random thought this morning that Aria would be the queen presiding over the SoL Knights of the Round Table right next to 3-gatsu as the king. My imagination is kinda out-there.. :')

Yeah, I love the Aria series. Despite its shortcomings.
