He's still imposing himself as they didn't asked to be hugged or rub down by a guy who, majority of the time is half naked and you can see their discomfort

Still no fucking. Not a zoophile.
And also, not rapey, just that everybody in the show (and IRL now I guess) misunderstands him and thinks that he's a pervert, even though he has no sexual intention.

Good grief...it's like nobody's ever had pets before....

He just wants to pet the animals. In episode 01, he's rubbing the wolf guy's underside. If you've never had a dog before (I pity you) but dogs LOVE this because it feels good...the same way humans pay HUNDREDS of dollars for professional massages.

The wolf guy now wants to avoid Genzo because he's embarrassed over how someone got him into that vulnerable state. And he's supposed to be mean and tough.

There's nothing sexual about this at all. Get your minds out of the gutter, you damn perverts. :/

He's generally a nature lover like Steve Irwin.

However, this may extend to animal women too, so maybe he'd be happier in a story like MonMusu.

Most likely not, this show is still not so crazy. At the same time, I am absolutely sure that such a “subtext” or impression was completely intentional for the sake of comedy purposes.

Well, I don’t know if Genzo is aware of this, but the scenes with housewife Kobolt were quite openly portrayed as the development of a simple woman's crush on charismatic mature man.

While it shouldn't be taken seriously, but does he know that not all animals are vegans thus need to kill other animals to get their food? I maybe be mistaken, but didn't he catch some tigers or lions or something?

I mean, in the strick sense of the word zoo (relating to animal life) and philia (abnormal love for a specified thing), then yes, because he does love everything animal related, but it's not sexual.
The problem is he takes it way too far.

To say it's not sexual confuses me. It clearly is. It's just the anime and likely source material doesn't go that far. Be he clearly is attracted to them in what seems to be a sexual manner.

What some of you don't seem to understand is just because the anime doesn't show it doesn't mean he isn't into that. His expressions say it all, some of you are just in denial.
I am become bunny, fluffing of worlds.

Pretty much yeah. The first episode almost made me throw up.
Luckily, he has been less close to animals buttholes in the later episodes.

Shit show still.

I say totally not, and using the narrative as evidence, his relationship with the kobold’s wife proves it: she interprets his attention as romantic or sexual attraction (and was totally open to the idea, as shown in Ep 11), but his interest is strictly fuwa-fuwa, and that’s the joke.

It’s similar to the situation in the Working! series, where everyone assumes Souta’s fascination with Popura means he MUST be a lolicon, instead of just being a fanboy for all things for cute & tiny, wherein lies the joke once again, since he is romantically attracted to Inami, a non-loli.
