Favorite Anime of 2019

I know everybody is doing this but I would like to know what was your favorite anime of 2019 and why it was your favorite. Maybe you liked something that went under the radar of 2019 shows.

I will start it off...

So my favorite anime of 2019 was Carole and Tuesday. The reason why it is my choice is because I love the animation and music from the show (Yes I know it is a music anime). It got me hooked from first second to last. The story was good (not great) but good. I hope 2020 will give me an anime I will enjoy like 2019 has.

Out of curiosity, do you want us to specifically pick an anime that was released in the year 2019, or, if someone didn't watch a brand-new release of the year in 2019, would you like us to list a favorite anime that we happened to watch in 2019, regardless of whether or not it might be a backlisted title?

2020 is starting off with a really good season so things are looking up.
This reminds me I still have to finish Carole and Tuesday >o>

And to answer the topic question, my favorite was an original anime from last Fall called Hoshiai no Sora. Not an awful lot of people watched it and I didn't expect much of it but it's now one of the six shows out of the 400+ I've seen that I've rated a 10. If I had to expressly briefly why I liked it, it's because of the raw passion and emotion the creators put into it. The whole show is masked as a lighthearted show about tennis bois but at the same time it has heavier moments about how stupid it is for people to pursue something others regard as pointless- aka you can see the staff's salt against the world and it's fuckin' amazing. It's legit just them going "art/animation is stupid to pursue??? SO WHAT I LIKE IT FUCK OFF"

I barely watched anime from 2019 as I was watching older shows and didn’t feel like watching seasonal anime. So even though I’m sure there were better shows, my favorite show of 2019 was Given. In short, Given was my favorite because the Yaoi based romance actually turned out to be quite mature and genuine, and they explored the feelings of losing a loved one through music excellently. Being a musician myself and a big fan of romance anime, Given was a pleasant surprise for me.

For me it was Kengan Ashura I guess.
There were a lot of good animes in 2019, unfortunately I didn't have the mood to watch them all (Psycho Pass 3, Vinland Saga), but I hope I will get around to it in the end.
