Setting aside malnourishment and how Haruo seemingly wasn't handicapped by his injury at all( not to mention the treatment) that was a well presented death scene/ sacrifice that got me in the feels.

One Piece episode 914 & 915 & 1027 were a mistake and 957 brought the salvation - FMmatron

Sayonara~ she really did a lot for these kids even with her condition.

The first half of this episode was really creepy.

Da siblings time. Its good to see something unexpected happening. It might not a nice sequences on the first half. They floated on that horrific situations. Its completely weird to seen both of them survived. I mean, no way! Ah, shit. Here we go again. Finally the siblings must tried hard to survived only with their own feets. I mean, yeah, they still had Haruo. But its not necessary talked. Thanks for so much coincidence. Thanks for so much a lucky fate. Thanks for so much fortune cookie they gave. The encounters they had in the last sequences were only to gave a nightmare. An touchable ended by their mom. A very bittersweet separation over the temporary happiness. So, yeah, its happening....

I might be proposed the same question as before. How long till they finally lost the hope and death? Thats the only good purposes i had for continuing this show.

Pretty incredible that Go and Ayumu survived on that drifitng life raft and catching bird and stuff to survive.
Damn the feels at the end, amazing of the mother to have come this far despite her physical condition, must feel terrible for those two kids losing both their dad and now their mom in front of their eyes....

Probably the best episode so far. We actually get time with two of the main characters. The pacing as usual is of course the ruiner of all things great but for how quickly paced it was it was pretty solid all around.

would've been the best episode so far if there wasn't so much convenience.

Easily the best death in the anime so far. For once it actually got me sad and not laughing like a dumbass.

Would have been sad if every person's death in this series wasn't overdramatic and strangely time-convenient

"Oh, everything's going well ? Here, now the mom suddenly has a cardiac assistance device, and she ded. Now you cry."

Nope, doesn't work like that, that still is a funny, useless and lame death just like all the others in this anime

Tragedy porn at its finest. Obviously, the mother was going to die when they mentioned the pacemaker in an earlier episode.

I felt the same way. Although looking at it from an objective stand point, the mother died because they couldn’t find a piece of sharp metal in the middle of a boat graveyard. Easily the most forgivable plot hole in the show however, not that the bar is set very high.

How long was the old fishman dead and the two kids asleep? His body looked like it was dead for DAYS by the state of it.

Surprised the siblings survived without one dying and having to eat the other. Go has no right judging best mom's fashion sense when the little fucker has a fanny pack too.

Mom was the best character in the entire series. Even more so than the dad. She carried the entire group on her back despite having a heart disease with a pacemaker. She's a pro-swimmer too which is why she was able to save that kid when their plane made a water landing. She also had the best seiyuu, very motherly. RIP mom :(

The first half - rather calm, as it should be when you are all alone somewhere in the ocean.

The second half - damn, it gave me feels. Dramatic death and sacrifice without any unnecessary elements. Just raw realism, even if it was harsh for those who were nearby.

Meh. You knew she was going to die from the moment she said she was going to dive.

I would feel sad if so many people hadnt died already. It's just become a fact now that everyone except the brother and sister will die.

I can't even wait to finish this one. I'm already dying.

Our man if the sea is coughing up blood. Don't worry, I do this all the time. A scant time later and he's already over the side of the life raft being eaten by waterfowl. Time for breakfast, Little bro! Oh no, a shark took it.

What's wrong, sis? Oh it's nothing, there was never a third guy with us, let alone one vomiting blood on himself. Queue the child acting like a child for the first time.

I don't normally care about graphical fidelity, but holy crap did the candy bar scene look awful. Straight up nightmare fuel!

We finally get the scenes we should have had a long time ago. The dad dream. The denial of a death. The reminiscing about a life you'll never have again. It's a shame they saved the emotional moment for the mom. Specifically for the time she's useful beyond driving other people's cars.

The show should have been filled with scenes like these. And no. Not best mom. One of the worst moms. Her sacrifice still doesn't explain how they freed the boat.

Best episode so far. The mum was easily one of the best characters and her death was handled well and with a certain poignancy that has been absent in other moments of this show.

i about lost it when ayumi stuck her head under the water like the old man hadn't done that and gotten eaten :0
i also think that this was one of the best episodes, despite the convinces(?)
ive seen alot of ppl say they don't like Go's random english inputs, but i really liked it in this episode and most of the others. as someone who is bilingual, i definitely mix english in, and most people i know do too. plus, hes a kid, and it seems like something a kid would do.
i just can't understand why the mother chose to free the boat? i know its not supposed to be realistic but that was a pretty dumb decision. it doesnt have much fuel, and you're going to waste your life on it?? maybe think about your kids?? why would you leave 3 kids on a boat-one that is INJURED-and think it would help them?? i want to say i feel sad about it but it was a useless move. im just holding out on my man kite bc i will be disappointed if he dies.

I'm gonna ignore the fact that it would probably be very unlikely that Mom and co would have been able to find Ayumu. Even with the occasional flashlight and flare. They were floating for at least 24 hours.

Anyway this was probably the best episode yet and was kinda what I more hoping this series would be about. Just the two of the kids reflecting on their life and thinking about how they might die was pretty nice. That was also a pretty well done dearth scene and didn't feel like random, cheap, shock value bs like the previous ones in ep 2 and 3.

Such a boring episode, felt double the length. They would never have reunited, come on. The mom’s death was sad but there was no way she was going to live. This show is only shock value.

This episode breaks my heart over and over again. I'm so scared for the siblings, I thought they will died in the floating boat, always darkness.. I wait to see sunlight but there's none.. and then I thought the mother is apparition, I don't know how they able to survive but I'm glad they meet their mother again but the motor boat scenes break my heart again.. they lost their mother :( I can't!!!! T___T

What's with everyone's hands this episode? They were so awfully drawn...

Seriously, Mari's heart condition couldn't have been more contrived. The same with all the plot conveniences presented in this episode but leaving that aside, her death may probably be the best scene of this show since the first half of freaking episode 1.

Why didn't the mom just go back to the surface after checking that the rope was stuck at a deeper level? What a dumb and contrived death, it's just for cheap forced drama.
Also what the fuck was with the animation this episode lol.

Jesus Christ, the sad narration thing over a sad moment has to be top ten worst tropes of all time. Like that shit sucks, and it mega sucks here where it's just straight up distracting.

The foot service was absolutely out of control this episode. Some in the first part was cool, but during the death scene is just fucking degenerate. Kinda took me out of the death scene.

Though, the show didn't really do a good job of emotionally investing you in the characters because of how insane every single episode is. However, the first part of this episode was genuinely really good, so big props there. Unfortunately, it really had no effect on the death because of how stupid it was.

This show is genuinely so fucking confounding.
