| Oh, the pressure! >"< I actually wouldn't label Sae (or Hiro) as 'true' yuri characters though- they're just cute fodder. They have the dynamic of a married couple - Sae being the hard working husband (she writes serialised romances for a magazine) and Hiro being the wife, cooking the meals for Sae and takes care of her etc. The possible yuri can been seen in little things like when Hiro recieved a love letter and Sae became very anxious over what her response would be (Hiro turned the guy down without thought). Or when Sae was having trouble finishing her story, she became stressed out and eventually fell asleep with her head in Hiro's lap. She then wrote that kind of scene as the end to her story. This is the most famous part...Somehow I get the feeling they were poking fun at yuri fans. :P As for liking the same guy, to my knowledge (although scanlations are a volume behind) there aren't any male characters seen aside from the principal. There was one small part where they went to a water park and Sae become flustered over a handsome lifeguard, but that's all I can think of... In conclusion...MAYBE. But not really. Yeah, I don't know if that helped at all... |

| I see, a Ctrl-V. Some of them are already on the list btw. I have a radical suggestion! I think maybe there should be a limit on one shots being added. Not to deny them recognition, but because if every single one is listed, it's going to end up being a very long list. It may be better in the long run to list compilation volumes/magazines and 'important'(?) one-shots. I don't know, just an idea! :D |

| Maybe Serial Experiments Lain? The shoujo-ai doesn't constitute a large portion of the show, but the shoujo-ai does constitute all of the romance in the show (basically, there's not much romance). Also, Alien Nine is pretty solidly shoujo-ai. The anime doesn't quite get past subtext, but the manga makes it pretty clear. |

Also, I sort of retract the certainty of my comment on how much shoujo-ai is in Alien Nine (I'm not too functional at 2 in the morning). If I remember correctly, the manga features a single kiss and some strong subtext (not commenting on Emulators, $100+ is too much to pay for a single used volume of manga), though given the sort of story (surreal psychological horror) the subtext might count for enough.But Alien Nine... I see what you mean. I will try reading the manga and seeing if the manga is worth the add. I did see the anime and loved it immensely, but I can't remember if there was a yuri vibe at all or if it was all goggles. |

| @ tehnominator True. I wouldn't really suggest her, if it was only because she enjoys reading yuri manga. But I still think (hope) this fact wasn't just dropped there accidentally. Kei is straight, Mizuki is more like bi. She has a special interest in girls. I've come to that point because she definitely likes Kei and was even getting jealous when Hiro was around. In the second season she stated to her cousin: "I'm clearly dedicated to Kei-senpai, so even if a lot of different men were to hit on me, I won't change my mind." Plus she liked Chihiro from the first sight. Then I noticed that it took longer for her to fall invole with Kuze, than the girls. Anyway I can't force my opinion on anyone, so it will be better if you check and decide. |

| NOMI! Since you REJECTED my suggestion of Sae from Hidamari Sketch!!! (evil eyes)  What about Erika from Tsuyokiss  or Nono from Hitohira  Tsuyokiss isn't all that serious; but Nono, Mugi, and Kirei in Hitohira all seemed to be quite... close.... These came to mind when I was comparing our lists and I don't think you have these two listed as completed. |

It's getting very hard to add people. Just recently I added a character who says she's a lesbian and who everyone recognises as a lesbian, but she seems straight. I don't know whether she's just playing around or serious, about being straight that is, since she's got undeniable attraction to women... ah, it's so frustrating to think about. |
| For Hidamari - Although I'm still not sure is Sae would classify (aforementioned lack of hard gay) - I think Natsume might. She seems to have a rather tsundere obsessive rival crush on Sae. I'll see if I can pinpoint some evidence for her... |
