I have seen a lot of sites that listed this anime with 12 epsiodes but as an manga reader that seams like false information to me and i think it wasnt officialy confirmed yet.

With the character shown in the PV etc. they would cover until chapter 66-69 (to finish the arc), the first episode covered 3 chapters, so for 12 epsidoes they literally need to double the pacing for the remaining 11 episodes but since the first episode was almost pinpoint accurate to the manga i cant really see that.

And even cutting some stuff out doesnt make sence since the either have shown the arc in the PV already or it is to relevant to cut.

Like i said before, i read the mange and for me it looks more like 20-24 epsiodes, correct me if i am wrong.

Usually split cours are announced prior airing. I might be wrong but i watched few seasonal animes which had split cours and they were announced while the airing dates are announced. Who knows, maybe they'll end at 12 episodes and right away announce a new season/cour.
