Ghost in the Shell Standalone Complex
| It's a stand alone (no pun intended) universe comprised of the first two seasons, the Solid State Society movie and 2045. So no, you don't need to see the 1995 film first although I do recommend it because it's a favourite of mine. With that said, you'd probably be better off not checking out 2045. I gave it a go and it's pretty bad. |

| Yeah I can't really add to the discussion. All I can say is that I can only recommend both movies first, cause I really liked them and they introduced me into the idea of what Ghost in the Shell is about. Quick tip: at the end of each Stand Alone Complex episode is a small funny bit about the tachikoma that adds to the universe by showing us how they think etc. which is pretty neat. |
