So, if you watched this anime, you might have appreciated it because it was a unique isekai, or you might have felt it was a generic isekai. Or perhaps you are dissatisfied with lightning-fast passes.

But, as I've recently finished the latest book of English translation, allow me to share some of my opinions (V20). The novels wander around different stiff until volume 13 or 14, but as Haruto completes his retribution, the main plot gradually begins. You will most likely notice significant changes in v20. That absolutely blew my head.Yes, it contains many harem clichés, but as the plot progresses, it becomes increasingly fantastic.Changes irritated me, but they needed a cliffhanger.

Also, this wasn't an anime that the creators expected to be popular, and it was probably just a light novel promoter, but it was, thus things like crowd funding and other things happened, and it got another season. The anime pacing is quite quick, which may appear rushed at times, but it is for the best for at least the first 18 volumes.Overall, I wanted to say, "Wait and see," because this isn't like any other isekai you've read.I hope this gets more than two seasons of faithful adaptation so that more anime fans can grasp it.Changes irritated me, but they needed a cliffhanger.

Fans of Tbate: Yes, this is also for you.

Ps

If you believe I'm a new isekai who is only fanvoing about them and changing to better taste, think again. No, I'm not; I don't like isekai in general, but here's a list of the ones that I do. (Non-Isekai's included)

1) 86: Eighty-six

2) Rascal does not Dream

3) Spirit Chronicles

4) The Beginning After the End

5) Classroom of the elite

Anyways time to touch some grass

That's all fine and cool!!

But how does
"Rascal does not dream"(Supernatural phenomenons, but on earth) and
"Classroom of the Elite" (Suspense, Totally normal people, Nothing supernatural as well and obviously on earth)
count as Isekais?

I dont think stories or tropes need to be unique, to be enjoyable.

Sometimes a simple and generic plot is more than enough to make a story really interesting.

Of course, feel free to enjoy what you want, but I just cannot imagine how can anyone find this interesting. Author did not put ANY effort whatsoever. There is NOT A SINGLE unique or enjoyable thing in this show. I'm not overexaggerating. Copypasted Kirito is just one example.
Generic premise can be enjoyable if executed correctly, but if plot is completely predictable, protagonist is an utter, flawless and unrelatable Gary Stu without any potential for development, villains are cartoonishly bad and ALL characters are as deep as puddle, then you are asking for a disaster.
Every single isekai I watched prior at least made some attempt at anything. This didn't This is where I draw the line.

Well Thats what the OP is trying to point out here. The story is generic until a certain volume of the light novel and when the main plot unfolds, It goes on a completely unexpected direction.

I can kind of agree with that since I too am currently reading the LN and it's really good. If anything, I'd say the anime was executed poorly.

Again, like the OP said, this purely might have been a promotional series, but due to the increasing popularity, they went with a second season.

Feel free to disagree with me!! I totally respect that

I ain't gonna argue about LN, because I never read it. It is VERY HARD to imagine, that those soulless husks of a characters somehow will gain personality later on.
Anyway, if that 1st season was supposed to somehow advertise the LN, then it pretty terrible job for me, because it was absolutely horrendous and as a result, it wasone of the very few 1/10 I ever gave.

If you already saw the 1st season of the anime u aren't missing out on much in the LN; I personally really enjoyed the first season, went to read the LN and was really disappointed on how boring it was lmao (read around 3-4 volumes before I said fuck it I'm out)

I have never said this before, but, this guy here is an idiot. A complete moron. Who the fuck waltz into MAL, create a profile and make a post about something that they don’t even know anything about? That’s right, only an idiot! The grammar is all messed up too. Maybe he was on something when he wrote this or maybe he just wanna say some stupid stuff to get others to join into the conversation.

The only scene I am looking forward are:
1) Lucius taunting Rio (Vol 7, 14)
2) Liselotte getting abducted (Vol 17-18)
3) Celia and Miharu getting beat up (Vol 19)
4) Rio losing fights (Vol 18, 20)
Don’t really care about the rest.
Oh, yes, I agree that the harem can be annoying, especially Charlotte. I wished that the writer can kill of Charlotte, she is super annoying. :/

EDIT: Dear OP, I will list out the isekai LNs the LN community I am currently in that are hyping:
1) Torture Princess
2) Modern Villainess
Oh, Mushoku Tensei just ended recently.
