Why is this stuff in Weiss’ mind the big part of the show? They sped through the best parts of volume 1 and just threw us into this weird new grim. Also making Weiss worse off than she is. I know this is a bad adaptation anyway, but did this mental grim stuff come from somewhere or was it made up for the show?

Well the anime title is called ice queendom and Weiss is the ice queen, so yeah. Terrible decision to make it so long tho

Weiss is a big part of the show because this anime has "Ice Queendom" on it, not much to say about it really.

Weiss name in German is White, so you can say she's white as snow, she was born in a cold/snowy kingdom, in the original show her nickname are Ice Queen, Snow Angel and Snowflake, her outfit is mostly white and blue, you know, like snow or ice, her hair is white like snow, her eyes are blue as ice, etc... you can make the math from here on.

Yeah, this anime is fucking garbage and I hate it and this is coming from an RWBY fan.

Like people have been saying, this is a specific arc. So the first 3 episodes are squeezed in to show how the main group got together, and then the rest is the Ice Queendom arc. So it’s mainly for the fans and not so much for new watchers. I still enjoyed it kinda.

The right mindset when watching an anime is hoping that it will break your top 10

Nightmare Grimm was created for the show, yes, and it is the main focus by design. The writers and animators at Shaft were given the greenlight to create their own RWBY side story, and this is what they came up with. Their adaptation of volume 1 and the first episode of volume 2 serve to provide a timeframe, some general information for newcomers, a basis for character development, and fanservice.

No, the nightmare grimm never existed in the original show and the entire dream arc is practically just useless filler and bad writing
