| I'm giving this another run with the Japanese voice acting in hopes that the story is a little easier to follow, and it is, but I believe there are some gaps in the story/development that make this one difficult to follow. Specifically, I think the MC accepts his role as a Summoner a little too easily in this episode two, and I just can't bring myself to accept the high level of teamwork/trust present at such an early stage in the development. Sure, it's a fantasy, there's magic, but the transition from the profound revelation in the first episode to what appears to be functional mastery in the second episode just seems farcical, if not irresponsible. I gave up at this point last year thinking it was just a convoluted Chinese to English sub translation, but it's more than that, the story is too abbreviated to make sense, even in a fantasy setting. I'll still check out the third episode, just to stick to the rule and hope that the story settles in to match the high-quality animation and sound design. |
| Yeah this is fucking stupid. EPISODE 1 - MC gets a spirit in first episode out of nowhere, get attacked and the spirit stolen. MC doesn't know anything about spirit-whatever even at the end of the episode. EPISODE 2 - MC doesn't train or learn anything about spirit-whatever, proceeds to visit the girl who attacked him and stole his spirit in the middle of the woods. Also, this looks like the most obvious trap, so MC is just a fucking retard at this point. The writing is juvenile and stupid. The spirit "goddess" is annoying-as-fuck and the battle looked stupid while the anime is trying hard to make it look "awesome" or "magical". There is absolutely no reason whatsoever for this twat of an MC to get any powers. He isn't cool, he has no struggles in life, he didn't even get the generic Isekai opening death where MC gets hit by a truck. MC just gets gifted random power and skill for being lazy and a good cook (apparently, no one else on earth is a better chef than a kid for the goddess to ever get tempted by). Meh. I'm done. 1/10 from me. |
