Ok so the rail episode, where the guy cleans/takes apart/rebuilds rails for like 40 years, Kino can't just turn back to say "Hey, you are wasting your life here". If that was me and the distance was like at most 500 km, I would still turn back to tell the guy to not waste the rest of their life there. I guess Kino just doesn't care/enjoys watching people waste their lives.

Also the arena episode. Why did Kino just tell a bunch of (civilians)? to kill each other. Don't do that, at least one of those people was a normal person. Even if they weren't, Kino still just made random people kill themselves just for fun.

I don't mean to say this as like "oh this show is shit". I just mean to say that Kino is a piece of shit.

I think that is her thing. She tries to stay neutral and not get involved with others business. It’s been awhile since I’ve watched it but I remember a few moments where I was annoyed with her decision making.

He wants to be like a fly that passes there. No influence or disturbance to whatever is going on, only watching and experiencing. It might be cruel sometimes, like you said, but that’s one way of taking life

Okay, and how do you think they might react if Kino said that? Kino told them things to consider the weirdness of their situation, but they never seemed to listen, or think outside of it, so they might have gotten violent if Kino told them their whole life has been a waste.

Kino doesn't want to disturb the lives of the people or countries encountered, they are a traveler, not a hero. The reason why they kill the emperor in the Colosseum episode is meant to be a change in Kino's perspective. They encounter a country that is truly awful for everyone, including the king himself, and believe that's the best thing to do.

But it is not the best thing to do, no way. There were just random people in the audience and those people had families probably, now everyone is dead. Some people probably had to run for their lives to survive but were still slaughtered because Kino just doesn't give a shit. If Kino thought that it was the best thing to do, she is fucking sick.

We don't know what happened after Kino announced that rule or how they implemented it (for the 2003 anime). They could have started fighting right there, or they could have organized another tournament with many of them abandoning it for fear of risking their life.

Yeah well in the new one all the people started killing each other. Imagine if there was like a guy far away from the arena just minding his own business when some people came there and murdered him because of Kino. Kino probably knew this either way but still did it.

Kino is adventurer and observer. She doesn't want to interfere by a rule.

That was my point. Wouldn't someone normally feel bad if a guy wasted like 40 years of their life and maybe stop them from wasting more. You know who would interfere in that situation? A good person that doesn't want people to suffer.

I mean it wasn't even a country like "everyone mutilates people here, so I guess I'll just watch or maybe do it just a little for a test". It was just a random situation on a road. With the logic of not interfering with stuff she should just have left the guys in the other episode die of hunger.

It's actually a very similar situation. Imagine if Kino was like "oh I just observe, whether you die or not, I don't really care". That would raise some eyebrows.

I mean that’s the whole point of her. She’s just a traveler, a wanderer. She simply travels and observes, without interfering. Even her predecessor did the same, so you can say it’s kind of her job or her whole persona.

working on the tracks was the only meaning they had in their lives and they had been doing it for like 40 years, telling them that their entire lives was meaningless is arguably worse then letting them continue to believe in the lie that gave their lives meaning.

Agreed. Kino had some screws loose...

Also, Kino was the better Elaina, and all those years ago to boot.
