i love the employee's in this place, there all so funny, lol
and this whole ten,ren stuff is really confusing, i think in a tl;dr version it would be:you can use your ki to attack, defend, become stronger and see things which your eyes cant see. ofocurse its more than that, buts its confusing

It's just an alternative take on ki compared to say Dragonball I guess. It's slightly more realistic and less over the top anyway ;)

I'm trying not to pay too much attention to all the mumbo jumbo about Nen, Ten, Zetsu, Hatsu, etc. XD It did seem like Gon entered the fight just to lose it... It won't seem very realistic if he wins it, but the way this episode ended, it's almost like he will...

All that Nen Ten whatever stuff is hard to get, but it looks pretty cool. I enjoy the fight so far too.

Nen is so much easier to understand in the dub. I find subs and explanations of difficult concepts really difficult to get, so hooray for dubs in my case!

Also, I reallllly wanna see the floor masters. They sound cool (though Gon and Killua didn't seem to think so...)

It's kind of hard to believe Nen is supposed to be a big secret when everyone is shouting about it now. As for Nen itself, it really is hard to follow at first but once it clicks together all of this is awesome.

I like the way the creeper nen users were introduced this versioninstead of the last. The lighting was darker/more dramatic so they don't look as "cartoon villain" dumb as 2011 ver. where they're cackling in a brightly lit hallway for no goddamn reason.

Otherwise, p. much the same.

WHAt the fuck was wrong with Killua's character design this episode?

I dont really know how the 3 rookie crushers felt like they were dark. Coz honestly, i felt none. And the lighting is so dark. IT's like im turning into an owl. XD

still, hxh '99's fillers are good.

As long as Gon scores a point, I'll be happy.

SO all of these nen is basically just like from One Piece:

I wouldn't call them exactly the same thing, but they sure are similar...

This may be the fight where Gon don't just use his strength and durability to fight but also his mind and some skillz. I now love the fight scenes even more!

Not sure yet what to think about that Nen ability, guess we'll see more weird fighting techinques coming out of that one.

Doesn't seem like anyone else thinks so, but I for one find this whole "Nen" concept kind of lame.

I enjoyed when it was just a bunch of regular humans using normal fighting tactics and psychological strategies to defeat their opponent.

I guess they were only able to get so far with that concept, though, and had to resort to more fantastical plot devices. Like someone else said, this is similar to Dragon Ball's "Ki". There's like a dozen variations of this concept throughout anime. One Piece's "Haki" is another example. Some kind of 'magical, spiritual, Japanese energy type' deal. I think it's kinda cheap, though. It's obvious they're just trying to find ways to make the enemies Gon has to face more and more powerful. You can only go so far with regular combat. (And yet Hanzo was so badass. He seemed pretty cool without all the Nen nonsense.)

Additionally, this "Wing" character is lame. He serves no entertainment-related purposes. The audience has no reason to like or dislike him. He's LITERALLY just a fvcking vessel to explain word-for-word what the writing staff intends "Nen" to be. Thus far, he's just there to spoonfeed the info to the viewer what's unfolding on screen -- breaking apart the complex concept that exists solely for this series to progress. I'm gonna be pissed if this whole Wing character has zero backstory or motives. The same goes for his little disciple with the big eyebrows. If they solely exist to introduce the dumb, over-complicated and overly-convenient "Nen" "Zen" "Ben 10" abstraction, then I'm gonna be forced to lower my 10/10 score of the series to a 9/10.

HxH 1999 has been bliss to watch, with everything pertaining to wits and physics. I didn't think there'd be any voodoo "power of the mind" stuff (like is in all the other shonen) which really set this series apart from the rest... but lo and behold, I think this "Nen" thing is here to stay. The outrageousness is all up hill from here. Which is sad.

Eh, I guess we'll just have to see.

So, the training was developing well, and the fight was ok, it’s clear Gido is stronger or more experienced, especially in nen’s use.

I guess the producers were trying to get to the Yorknew arc as fast as possible after the Zoldyck family arc; there isn't as much anime original content in this arc so far

After how badly done Wing's nen was in the last episode I found the nen awakening scene to be really great in this one. Wing looked really cool and the pace of it was exciting. Its a bit clinical in the 2011 anime and this did a better job of showing (rather than telling) how talented Killua and Gon are.
