Hajime's fight against Saeki, confronting the half-sibling and unapologetically ranting his feelings and expectations, it's an intense interrogation. From the moment that Saeki knew that Hajime was his blood-related brother, though in a different part of the world, his desire to listen more to Ryuuji's works got the better of him as he moved together with his grandmother to Japan, with his ignorant mother leaving them. The thought that Saeki would just give up thinking that he's the sole cause of Hajime losing his joy in playing the violin, it feels almost like an insult to injury to deny his own existence as Nao Saeki, not a part of being Ryuuji's son. In the end, the clueless Saeki just doesn't really care, and what matters to him is the moment now. It's the same for Hajime, and that affirms the feeligns between them.

The half-siblings are back playing the violin together again as Akine got the wrong drink on a hot day, which she casually handed to Hajime for consciously making her think of him. The other Senpais are happy to see Hajime back, even more for Kozakura (because she has a crush on him), and as much as Ayukawa-sensei is concerned about him, the concert is also important, progressing well deep into the 4th Movement.

Literally a runaway train with both Hajime and Saeki at the helm, this ensemble is flame.

Aono and saeki confront their past together and overcome it and they will maintain their relationship like how it was in the past.

The drama is over for now and we're back to some good old violin, I missed it.

Well I’m glad everything worked out in the end and Saeki and Aono finally put things behind them. Neither of their fault that their dad is a bum. The best thing for them now is to move forward, together. As rivals and brothers.

Akine looked so happy to see her friends back in good spirits. I wish we’d get more of her in the show. It started out as she and Aono and she’s really been sidelined. But, she’s such a good character.

That’s really nice that the teacher didn’t even bring up the missed club meetings. Who cares about that with all that’s going on with Aono’s mom. Very realistic response from sensei.

Finally back to preparing for violin competitions!

Great episode although didnt like how they managed the "drama". I really hate btw how they cut the episodes at the end when we are in the best part of it! but hey, that makes me want to next episode even more!

Sure the 4th movement is iconic, but when someone says New World Symphony, it's the 2nd movement that leaps first to mind. Surely, I can't be the only one?

Was a bit boring - this episode. Can't deny that. But one of the rare episodes that were boring. Most others were good. Felt a bit lengthy the part in the start ... where I got bored. At the end back in school (when Akine started to show) the episode got better again though. And with the "drama" being finished here it will get better again soon I guess.

@quintopia nah to me it's the 4th movement. I actually hear this song a lot before knowing the song name from older anime like Gaiking and Major. but 2nd movement is also great

Damn that was super boring, having to go through those bland dialogues between Saeki and Hajime made me sleepy. Anyway things picked up at the end there, this series is at it's best when it focuses on music which it should do more instead boring af drama.

I'm super glad Aono and Saeki are friends again. I swear I'm not a sensitive person, but I got a few small chills when both of them sat there, practicing the violin again together.

I don't get dude's family tree

German grandfather - Japanese grandmother (but she doesn't seem like the mother to Saeki's mom?)

German mother (daughter of the 2 people above?) - Japanese father (Ryuji - also Aono's father)

Saeki (Aono's half brother, who's living with his Japanese grandmother from above, which means both his grandmothers are Japanese, since I presume Ryuji's mom is Japanese)

Just kind of weird writing...

Maybe I missed something

@quintopia I would venture to say you are in a very, very, very small minority

You said it. The 4th is iconic. It's something most people recognize even if they don't know who/what it is.
