| This film is a bit of mess but the underlying story seems to have a lot to it... It's interesting enough in itself even without Darkside (whom we learn next to nothing about). They made a film with this much content and gave it only 1h20?? Needed 2 hours at least. Surely Japanese fans were fed up with just-read-the-manga prickteases by 1994? |
| Despite an unclear story and some cheesiness I liked this a lot. I felt really connected to it somehow, like watching something when I was younger and getting other senses from the film beyond sight and sound. I wish there was a clearer end. |
| Art looks awful (most of the times is jarring to eyes, too much details is not a good thing) Story probably had potential, thought it was more of manga/ sequel baiting story which don't explain anything. We don't know about the protagonist, don't know how the heck their powers work, don't know where the hell all this is leading to...There are too many don't knows. character was like ok, though I find non of them really appealing There was a guy how launched a missile on space satellite and the missile launcher was made of cardboard…lol. There is nothing more to say after this. Overall I didn't like it. (Was expected something close to vampire D, But whatever) |

| Didn't expect an obscure 90s movie to have, like, half of the Evangelion cast! And some familiar phrases even. I suspect the manga doesn't explain much further in only 2 volumes, it seems like more or less fitting for the movie length. Great snippet of the world anyway, cool setting, music and likeable main characters with so many details left unexplained is quite an achievement. Guren kinda sounds like Gihren to me, lol. P.S. The girl with the piano might be the nurse hiding children, the one who was called "even less controllable than Tamaki" or something, because of her going to Earth every now and then. Hence she was referred to as sister by Tamaki. P.P.S. Apparently Ozzy Osbourne has a song named "Darkside Blues" with a harmonica as a bonus for the Japanese version of his "Ordinary man" album. Coincidence? Would be cool if not haha. |

| it was okay, I watched the slightly cheesy English dub so mostly wanted to leave this comment here to remind myself of that if I ever wanna rewatch (unlikely) so I remember to watch the sub next time. |
