Missed potential?

I've been thinking about this for a long time now.

I feel like the Zom 100 anime had potential, but the delays ruined it. 1 or 2 delays wouldn't be bad but they delayed every other episode, which started to kill the hype. Eventually they took a 3 month break before they released the last 3 episodes on Christmas, that put the nail in the coffin. I just didn't care anymore by then.

Anyone else felt this way as well?

If I had to choose between One Piece and a girlfriend...I think I'll go with One Piece

It's been over a year, why bother caring about it anyway although I think the delays were worth it, the animation quality was upto the mark and they didn't rush the episodes as the studio was new and was facing production issues at that moment they still delivered, Ninja kamui is the appropriate example, the first episodes were good while the rest were mediocre.The last 3 eps of zom 100 that were released together was a good thing imo.

completely agree with this. to add on, it also doesn’t make sense to complain about the potential of a show if it’s only about the delays and production issues. yes it may have killed the hype, but that doesn’t take away the fact that it was a solid show as a WHOLE. you only thought that potential was lost because you were watching it WHILE it was airing. therefore, you were there in real time when the episodes got delayed. however, since all of the episodes are out now, it wouldn’t be the same story if you recommended it to a friend, and that friend was able to watch every episode back to back.

It’s better to wait until all episodes are out so you don’t have to wait for the next. I don’t watch shows until every episode of that season is out. Thought Zom 100 was really good personally.

Loved this show, amazingly well done for their first anime. The delays were a bit annoying, but didn’t ruin the hype for me.

I went into this expecting a nice light hearted zombie comedy, akin to parts of Zombieland. But this was way too dark for me, especially Episode 1. And was definitely overhyped so any squandered potential was its own fault

I mean, there's always time. Dorohedoro got it's second season confirmed 4 years after the first.

But them botching the release definitely hurt it's chances.

Those are just the issues the studio ran into, I’m sure they were just as frustrated as us! I still loved it, it was such a fun show.

I didn't care much about the delay, anyone who lost interest in this show after just 3 months probably didn't like it much in the first place.

the delays killed the hype at the time, but I don't think the potential was missed or wasted. I would love a second season and maybe this time, they'd actually have a better production schedule or even a different studio making it.

The delays really hurt this series for me. Especially with how forced the farm episodes felt. Like seriously, why did we need a villain who's an evil version of the MC in this series. It felt way too on the nose and honestly made me like the series less

Well...I am not entirely sure on that.

It's only been a year, there is still time, but even then from what I heard this anime wasn't that successful.

If I had to choose between One Piece and a girlfriend...I think I'll go with One Piece

I don't think that's the problem. For me, the last three episodes were so mediocre. The antagonist's backstory was boring, and honestly, why should I care about their flashbacks? Then, they suddenly change after hearing some wise words—seriously? In my opinion, this is where they missed an potential. They could have done more, like making the antagonist a true psychopath instead of just a regular person who got canceled by society.
