Its really really unsatisfying but it makes sense in the context of the story

| The age of anime original endings is over and mindsets like this just lead to disappointment. People were also coping about Attack on Titan maybe having an anime-original ending after its manga counterpart proved divisive, and such rumors obviously also amounted to nothing in the end. |

It's the ending it needed to have, but the way it arrives to that conclusion is very rushed and bad. To keep it spoiler free, I'll just say it needed much better writting for everything about the main villain to actually be believable.
Kind of how the ending to Death Note is what needed to happen, but everything after L except the final episode seems way below the quality expected after L's arc

It’s only bad because it feels like a betrayal of all aqua’s character growth. Aqua at the beginning of the series I’d believe would khs for revenge by the end he wouldn’t.
| @Orbakun Ignoring Aqua's entire character development is just one of the problems. It's just a really badly written ending to an ambitious series. So bad that you can find multiple studies or deeply written complaints about it in any Oshi no Ko fan community, no exceptions. To the point that the communities of his new manga even imposed a ban on discussing it. |
