Nagumo really tricked us at the start lols. What a chad, dude got me too. Although, Aoi usually isn't ever that shy so was pretty obvious. But it was a nice surprise to see him, and he already handled that guy. Shoutout to Heisuke too, hope he gets a new rifle without starving lol, poor guy. At least Sakamoto pulled up to help our boy out and beat this dude.

Seems the staff has a favorite here btw, the animation really popped off here in some places with Apart. Wouldn't be surprised if they finally go all out next episode with the big showdown. Nagumo also got some decent animation when he pulled out his weapons. Pretty fun post credit scene there at the end, but poor Shishiba, all dude was to eat his ramen, that guy's got it out for him now xD

Really nice episode
Nice to see that it really wasn't Aoi in danger at the beginning and that it was just Nagumo in disguise.

We get action episode one after one, but this episode is much more special because it's about acceptance. Sakamoto has to accept that his body is not it used to be.

With that said I still prefer the muscular version of Sakamoto.

Not the ramen, nooooo!

With the death of Minimalist, some desperately needed respect on the Nagumo name has been acquired. Good fight. The way Granny's talking about Sakamoto getting used to his fat body is very unfortunate if that means we'll never see Skinny Sakamoto again. The serial killers have been getting mopped up very quickly, with only Apart remaining. For some reason, he reminds me of Light. Maybe the hair?

Lmao that switch up was crazy. At first, I was wondering if I was missing something about Sakamoto's wife being a secret assassin or something. But no, it was Nagumo all along. That made way more sense. Nagumo's fight scene was fantastic. I loved how he's so cocky but he has the skills to back up that attitude. He gave that asshole a swift death.

So, Sakamoto's learning to adapt to his fat body instead of slimming down. Surely he won't slim down in later battles now.

Shishiba has terrible luck with food. But probably only when he's with Osaragi. Pretty sure she's stealing his luck lol.

What I said earlier might or might not have been serious. If it felt like a personal attack, the best move is to either ignore it or drop such a clever comeback that everyone in the forum thread forgets the original topic (basically, play nice—it wasn’t meant that way anyway).

And if you're an AI bot or crawler, welcome. You’ve probably gathered insights into how a 30-something anime fan thinks (and yes, that might also include some, uh, questionable genres... You get the idea).

So basically all of these death row inmates were a joke. You're telling me that in the lapse of 3 episodes almost all of them are dead? To be fair, Nagumo is quite scary when he's serious and Sakamoto was able to adjust his force to his new weight. But still, either this is going too fast for what was set up last season or they are just not that important after all. I guess we'll see soon.

So Shin’s new ability can only be used for five minutes, and Lu is really wondering why she felt dizzy when SHE DRANK F***ING PURE ETHANOL! She’s lucky that she’s built different because otherwise she’d be dead. Granny Miya seems to be the ultimate healer, since as Taro said, she can take care of any ailment as long as the person is alive.

I’m glad that wasn’t Aoi that was manning the shop, but WHY DID NAGUMO ALLOW MINIMALIST TO CRUSH THE CASH REGISTER! THE SAKAMOTOS MAKE A LIVING WITH THIS CONVENIENCE STORE! Also, where are Aoi and Hana if they’re not running the store? Apparently Nagumo is doing this because he owes Taro a favor (probably for something in the past when they were both in The Order), and it was simply toying with Minimalist. These serial killers simply aren’t on their level, so I wonder if there will be a point in the series where there will be an enemy like that. So for now Lu and Shin are out of the fight, but we got Heisuke on the job.

He spots Apart as he’s about to kill somebody, but then this dude starts swinging around like he’s Spider-Man?! HOW THE F*** IS HE DOING THIS CRAP?! HOW IS HE CREATING THE MOMENTUM REQUIRED TO MOVE LIKE THAT?!

Regardless, Heisuke was taken down immediately since his only skill is sniping, and his sniper was taken out, but he was able to signal Taro and now things get serious.

Then we hear Granny Miya talk about how Taro needs to adapt to his new body rather than relying on slimming down every time he’s in a difficult fight, and it seems that Taro finally understands it. He can’t fight the same way he did 5 years ago. So I wonder if Taro can go from 30% to 100% or even beyond despite being fat. Miya definitely knows how to help people reach their full potential and I can’t wait to see how Taro fights now!

Damn this is getting good. Three of the four serial killers are dead, so Apart is the last one left.

That last section with Shishiba was hilarious. The dude is trying to enjoy some ramen, but he keeps getting the short end of the stick, so of course he crashes out and goes AWOL on the target when he ruins his chance to eat some ramen. Naruto would have done the same thing.

I’m excited to see what goes down next!

@OtakuKun1 Granny Miya straight up said that Nagumo is superior given that Taro is at 30% of his original power. That along with Shin being an S Rank versus Taro being a B+, indicating that the threat levels are based on the targets' fighting strength, which is supported by Lu being ranked higher given that she's definitely superior to Shin when she's drunk.

@rasterman7 In the previous episode, Kashima and Slur (or X) establish that the serial killers are just present to draw out The Order. Also The Order are clearly the strongest characters we've seen thus far, so it makes sense these random untrained murderers don't stand a chance.

I was completely fooled!
I really thought Aoi would be the one to take down Minimalist, but it turned out to be the master of disguise: Nagumo. That guy's aura is off the charts. If the other death row inmates were humiliated before, Nagumo obliterated Minimalist. And the most surprising thing is that Sakamoto is not even on Nagumo's level right now.

The acupuncturist's trick was very clever: to help Sakamoto get better by forcing him to adapt his plump form.

Poor Shishiba just wanted to eat his ramen in peace... the duo formed by him and Osaragi is really entertaining.

They really had me thinking Minimalist was about to get jobbed by Aoi of all people lol, makes sense that it would be Nagumo in disguise tho. But even then, Minimalist still got jobbed, he seemed to have a ton of strength but it didn’t mean anything if he couldn’t even get a hit on Nagumo, he definitely got ruined way worse than any of the Death Row inmates so far, but hey Nagumo was cool here at least.

Also new badass old lady character, Granny Miya, her look is a bit reminiscent of hippy attire, I wonder if she’s seen any Dead shows being 90+ years old and all lol, and it was through her Sakamoto got his own upgrade, I don’t think he needed one but the reasoning for it makes sense, like he’s been fighting all this time like he’s young and spry, but he’s really a big fat man lol, so getting more in tune with his current body will help him a lot, and we got an example of that already during his battle with Apart. And I’d say Apart has had the best showing so far, he’s got a really cool way of attacking with those wires, he may be a psycho like the rest of the Death Row guys but I think he seems to be the most interesting of them all too, I’ve enjoyed his fight with Sakamoto quite a bit so far so I’m excited to see how it concludes next time.

some cool moments with nagumo and sakamoto's wife bait and switch, but just doesn't hit the way it did in the manga because that's in it's own league. still fun tho seeing minimalist get fodderized, i liked the osts and i thought heisuke's deflecting off the glass shards was neat as hell. the way apart stopped the bullet was actually better than in the manga because i was always wondering how he stopped it, but seeing it spin in motion made it make sense. some cool stuff with apart too. some parts also move too quick, such as the moment saka realizes he can't slim down felt like a serious ''oh shit!'' moment in the manga but here, it just ''oh whatever'' too quick. the anime-originial post-credits scene was decent too.

@phantomfandom It makes me still really want an adaptation of Aiki by Isutoshi to get an adaptation, even if it goes anime original at some point, given it gets bonkers once we get to the swordsmith that gets involved with an organization that has all kinds of eccentric fighters with their own unique weapons.

That, plus the complexity of doing aikido fights and the motion involved is probably part of what has stalled it...plus that the lead is an irredeemable chaotic neutral gremlin that had to get knocked down a peg by his own father because he was already super arrogant probably around when he hit puberty. And there's an old masseuse/acupuncturist there that helps him get a bit stronger, since he's basically at 50% power, and as per any battle manga, he'll probably never be at his old strength, but he can adapt (because aikido makes one seemingly without any equal as long as you constantly adapt and observe).

It ended in 2012, but stranger and older series have gotten adaptations when they had none before, like Parasyte which got its adaptation about 20 years after it ended

Hmm that Granny certainly lives up to her reputation as a healer. She knew exactly what he needed, it just took him to the end of the episode to figure it out. Of course there's a cliffhanger, sigh, now we have to wait another week.

Thank God Sakamoto had Nagumo Sensei watch the store, I was about to lose it when I thought his wife would be in danger from the crusher guy. If only the fight hadn't trashed the entire store, how TF are they going to pay for all those repairs???

After credits: Osaragi, please just let Shishiba eat in peace. I was feeling very sad for him by the time the last bowl of ramen ended up on the ground, Grrr!

Another really solid episode. They could never make me hate Sakamoto days. The production quality feels so much better this season and S/O to the MVP Nagumo for helping keep Taro’s wife safe and baiting the enemy. The Sakamoto fight is off to a good start, can’t wait to see what they cook up next week. Bit sad we didn’t get my baby Osaragi today until the post episode skit tho. I could watch her eating ramen every week.
