That was a quick and easy way to resolve things I guess.

The new guy seems like he’s gonna be difficult to deal with esp with the way Tsubaki reacted

Damn Not WB making me cry Again🥹

As much as most ppl hate Tsubaki, he has a point about going down a bad path. Ppl can change but it’s gonna take a few words and time to understand.

Also Bruhhhh My guy Yamato Endo making his appearance at the end like “Nahhhh you guys enjoying life here? It’s pathetic, just a way to kill time till you die. Im boutta run these hands on every one of you till your on the ground”

Don't wanna say much cuz I'm lazy. It's good. As good as the first season was at least. However, episode 6 hits hard. Not a single fight but that is my favorite one so far. People in my country not as tolerant and many would say that it's not normal. As well as I'm not the most tolerant person on the Earth yet the plot for that episode is written and was handled wonderfully. Good job! Very amusing!

This anime has become so fucking boring holy shit. This trope of talk with your enemies and 5 seconds later they're your friends has gotten stale really fast. They take sooo long to get anything done, it's boring as hell

well, that's life. everyone has their reasons to behave the way they do and it's important to understand other people and help them if you can, because we all have problems in some way. Maybe you expected a generic fight anime where they always fight without even considering their rival as a human being (isn't that also a trope??), but that's different. it's ok not to like an anime though, maybe this isn't for you

While I'm happy we finally ended this boring arc and then set up the upcoming one that seems to be lore-droppingly interesting.

DAMN did they drag out Endo's little surprise visit. Like something was gonna happen, queue the slow motion, then nothing happens. Just for it to happen AGAIN. Something was gonna happen, queue the slow motion, then nothing. Just to then do it a third time lmao

C'mon, I knew the "real" fight with him was definitely not gonna happen there but they really dragged it. HARD. Though, Sakura has major props for knowing where he wants to stand. Hopefully, he doesn't get a "corrupted" arc courtesy of Endo.

I understand a backstory was needed plot-wise, but...people in a specific neighborhood at risk of dying from starvation because "business slowed down"???
In modern Japan?
Couldn't they find a job elsewhere?
Doesn't government provide unemployment subsidies and whatnot?

What Sakura pointed out was interesting—that the GRAVEL members seemed completely unconcerned when their fellow comrades went down in a fight, but that wasn’t the case with Suzuri, the leader of GRAVEL. They all seemed to care deeply about him. Ultimately, this fight was resolved through peaceful discussion, with a job fair 😅

This entertainment district arc got wrapped up real fast and convenient...

"We've never had money and never had jobs, how could you understand?"
"We'll just get you jobs."
"Oh, OK! Yoroshiku!"

Followed by more repetitive, on-the-nose, overdramatic conversations.

Tsubaki telling Shizuka that she "trampled over their feelings" was a little... harsh. And obnoxious. You're the one who ran off on your own and started a 100-man brawl without talking to her... I guess it's just shounen trope, and it's plain cool to have Tsubaki tell Shizuka "if you said something, I'd save you any time."

The next episode seems to be the same-old pattern, sitting around and making friends again. I'm good...

Well damn, I didn’t expect Shuhei Suzuri to have any feelings. The way he opened himself up throughout his fight with Tasuku was reminiscent of how Sai opened up during the Tenchi Bridge mission. All this time, Shuhei was simply trying to help his friends survive and make sure that everybody eats. To do that, he shut off his emotions to help feed everybody and now he has the chance to make amends.

Also, it seems that despite the fact that Haruka didn’t do any fighting in this episode, his feelings have grown even further with his desire to keep his friends safe being a top priority for him, and it also seems that Tasuku wants to prevent Roppo Ichiza from recruiting them, implying that he has plans for them in the future. Haruka isn’t denying his feelings as much and speaking of, it seems this desire of his overtook his romance radar with Shizuka and Kanji since it didn’t go off.

Given Shizuka’s generally glowing personality, I’m not entirely shocked that she was willing to forgive GRAVEL and allow them to work in Keisei Street.

Before celebrations can occur though, it seems the guy with the Frank tattoo has shown up, so the fighting may not be over yet. Tasuku seems to know this person and this guy is trying to crush Furin in some way, so things are definitely getting more interesting.

I’m looking forward to what’s next.

@Ranxomare That's not a new character. He appeared after the KEEL fight concluded. He posed in as a KEEL member and left the warehouse once Furin left.

@perseii I completely disagree.

Tears were brought to my eyes hearing Tasuku's speech to Shuhei and how Roppo Ichiza jumped in to help GRAVEL out. That was beyond touching and reminded me of Naruto in the sense of the emotions in play and the delivery of said emotions.

Tasuku didn't run off on her own to start the brawl and neither did Roppo Ichiza. The goons and GRAVEL pulled up and they just did what they usually do, defend the place.

This season is going well so far.

Weeks that windbreaker hasn’t made me cry: 0 yet again, beautiful episode and perfect conclusion to this gravel mini-arc. This had it all. The action from Cloverworks, the emotional moments that make wind breaker so special, AND we meet our next big bad? Perfect ep

“I’ve never had anything to begin with” Suzuri and Gravel were a really interesting opposition group for these last few episodes because if you think about it, Suzuri is basically Sakura if he didn’t have a support system. They both have the same ethos, they won’t let any of their friends suffer or go without. For Sakura he was able to find a home with Bofurin and he’s not starving, but the Gravel folks only had themselves. Society forgot about them. So it’s only natural seeing someone like Shizuka who has so many people concerned for her wellbeing and willing to put themselves on the line for her would hurt.

Communicating through fighting has been a big theme of this series from the start and you could quite literally feel all the pain and burden Suzuri carried in that fight. His attacks were primal, full of fear and a desire to survive. He’s not fighting to be evil or anything, just a simple human desire to have enough food to eat and to make sure his people are good. It’s funny how you can go from hating a character to understanding them and sympathising with them so quickly. That’s why talking to people is important which is another big theme of this series. You can’t help people if you don’t know what they want. We can’t understand one another if we don’t communicate.

Speaks to tsubakino’s emotional intelligence that he was instantly able to see Suzuri wasn’t a bad guy and must’ve had a lot of pain and suffering in his life. Ironically, they both would’ve been great friends if they grew up together which makes things all the more painful. We can’t choose our circumstances, but we can choose what to do next so respect to Suzuri for realizing the error of his ways and taking Kanji’s job offer.

The big ironic twist of the episode being that Suzuri already had more than most people will ever get, he had a loving group of friends. Rooting for them!

“I love you a whole lot more than you can ever imagine” 😭 yea that’s where the tears started flowing for me. Tsubakino and Shizuka friendship is so pure I love them sm. I love how Suzuri made sure to reassure Shizuka that his group would never do anything to hurt her, and if they did, he’d take full responsibility!!

Oh shit that ending! Who’s our new hottie??! Is he gonna be related to the guy from the end of the KEEL arc?? Can’t wait for the next ep!
@Marinate1016 Firstly, I love your analysis of how Shuhei's fighting style was representing his desperation.

Secondly, it's the same guy from the end of the KEEL arc.

I like Wind Breaker BUT...

I'm really glad this arc is over or almost over.

Too much about it that I felt was off:

I didn't like the way the adults have a place in the story at this part. Part of believing delinquent anime is believing in the melodrama, pettiness, and revenge that goes along with youth. A time in life when everything seems like a big deal and is deeply important to you, emotions are running high. School gangs and massive fights between them are all part of it. Transitioning this early in the story to the somewhat shady underworld of adults, who still squabble like teenagers, pushed the limits of my belief.

I mean, you're telling me there's a conveniently placed impoverished town next door, and all of the adults who are seemingly desperate didn't travel to find jobs that were apparently pretty adjacent to them all along? This doesn't make sense. The problems of adults weren't working for me in a story that has operated on the logic of its child characters.

Also this arc had way too big a problem with giving us huge backstories, that are supposed to be emotional important, to characters we JUST met and have zero connection to. Shizuka's story would have been so much better if I knew her for a long time. And bowl-cut-bangs Tanjiro voiced guy, you're telling me HE had a gigantic emotional backstory too?

I also wish Tsubakino had more or better story to showcase himself as a character. I feel like there should just be more to him, idk. I'd rather seem him have to deal with school gang matters than the red light district stuff. Perhaps we'll get there, but as an introduction, it would have been waaaay cooler.
@eightdollarwater I disagree.

I felt more attached to Shuhei after seeing his backstory, and came to love Shizuka as a character more after seeing hers, especially since it was being hinted it throughout this arc.

And regarding the adult presence, it makes perfect sense. As established in this episode, NOBODY WAS WILLING TO ACCEPT GRAVEL, so they had no choice but to go down this path.

I love this arc and this is the best the series has done up to this point.

5 minutes of sakuga fighting, 15 minutes of talk no jutsu!

Still great. I like how our resident male Tsundere looks extra cute when he's blushing.

I really like Wind Breaker, but man, some scenes are just one corny moment after another. I get that it's supposed to be the emotional climax of the show, but everyone suddenly starts speaking like a philosopher while the rest of the crowd just stands there watching. It’s a bit much. There's so little subtlety in those moments—it kind of pulls me out of the story.

Don’t get me wrong, I still enjoy the stories and the emotional impact, but the way those scenes are executed made the episode feel a bit off for me. It’s not a bad episode, and I think it's fine objectively, but it just didn’t land that well for me personally.
@Bobz_25 Well it landed well for me. In Season 1, the way they executed these scenes was absolutely garbage, but they've improved their delivery of these emotional scenes midst fight.

Pretty good episode.

And you know, in the past few episodes I started getting this idea that it would be pretty cool if Nirei would end up going through some sort of insane glow up in the series, with him and Sakura becoming some sort of best buddy beasts, the strongest among their ranks. But Idk how the author is gonna spin this, although he seems to be planting a lot of seeds regarding Nirei wanting to become more than who he is right now, but we'll need more seasons to see that happen.

I thought that Suzuri got the order to kidnap Shizuka from the guy that wanted her and not a middleman, and this middleman is the same guy that was seen at the end of the KEEL arc, interesting. I wonder why this middleman didn't do the job himself, guess he wanted to see a fight against Furin guys and now that Suzuri and his gang failed it looks like he'll be confronting Furin himself. I'm curious to find out how he knows Furin and its members, I'm thinking he may have been a member before.
