My favourite anime is Haikyuu and Demon Slayer. But this Anime might just be my new favorite. It's so unique. And the opening song gave me shiver like Aot and Tokyo ghoul combined. I really recommend it.

I read the manga up to chapter 77 and also watched the first 3 episodes of the anime only to come across yet another average and generic Shounen, but I understand that you like it.

I know people will clown on you for really liking "Generic Shonen," But Keep Loving what makes you happy. There's nothing wrong with having different tastes in shows than they do.

I personally see a lot of potential in this show and am really enjoying the power system, art style, and worldbuilding so far, but I haven't seen enough yet. I see a lot of potential for something I'll really like though and am really excited to see more. The fight In Episode 4 has me especially excited i really enjoyed how Riyos Movement was animated. Very Fun and expressive.

Also, if you're really into Gachiakuta and haven't at least given Soul Eater a try yet, I'd HIGHLY recommend. They've got very similar vibes and would probably really interest you.

I'm also really loving the series! Even if certain story beats are familiar from other shonen, it's got unique style and vibe to it that differentiates it from others. Rudo as the MC is really likeable, this specific brand of awkwardness is really endearing. I've been obsessed with full version of OP for the last few days, it conveys such raw emotion and that melodic part at the end actually made me teary-eyed.

Btw, don't let any cynical answers get to you, be as hyped about your new favorite thing as you want haha if to you it's the best anime ever, let it be!

it actually has a pretty good story decent fights and a great power system im currently on chapter 113 and im really enjoying it

The original poster literally said that it could be the new best anime for "them", and here we have a bunch of insecure snowflakes already feeling attacked/uncomfortable/tempted to debate someone on their "personal" preferences. Ideally after you would've discovered that they're saying that it could be the new best anime for "them", and not posting some mandate requiring everybody to fine tune their preferences/go out of their way to like this anime - there should've been need for no more replies after that. My reply here is not for the OP either btw - but for anyone who might be reading too much into this. You liked it, good. Didn't like it, even better.

it is good. I too like the ost. though for me not the best, I'll still call it a very typical Shonen. I might have liked it more if the entire consumerism theme was more present, cause the first episode caught my attention because of that, after which, it proceeded to follow the sake generic Shonen tropes.

You have your list and the rest of us have our top-10 (or more) lists. After these few episodes it wouldn’t crack my top. I like your top two but they’re not in my top either. Reading MAL posts is fun because everyone is enthusiastic about their favorites.

It’s definitely a fun anime with an original story, good world building, and a bunch of quirky characters. Riyou is my favorite character thus far. She’s a hoot!

Don’t get me wrong, I’m enjoying it too, but it’s so hard to judge an anime when not even half of its first season is out yet. Without having read the manga (which also isn’t finished) there’s simply no way to tell what trajectory it will take and whether that will be good or bad. What will pay off, what won’t, etc. there’s plenty of episodes left within this season alone for it to become amazing or for it to become downright awful, and that says nothing of future seasons either
