@StallionXD Tsukasa and others will have important plot later in the episode, you just need to shut the fuck up, you didnt even know what happen to others, new characters bring new plot to the manga, you didnt want the series to just flopped because no one knews where to go after this, how to repair the medusa, you should've shut up since ryusui introduced then
@Snoowyy 4 total entries, a profile more desolated than the brain of the author of this shit.
It's it fun living as a fucking bot? Try and make me shut up, I want to see it lmao

While Stanley is high on pursuit repairing the plane's engine, political talks take place in Corn city in the midst of figuring out how the medusa artifact works. The pieces are so small only someone with so much precision could take it apart and Joel is that guy despite his... questionable attitude. Indeed, diamond serves as a battery apparently and with that piece of information we go back to Senku who recently made a fax machine (already catching up to some businesses in Japan) and now is taking some measurements for the rest of the journey in the José de San Martin stretch across the Andes.

Poor Luna, she really thought she was in a relationship with Senku. Chelsea was just too hilariously blunt this episode.

normal episode, I like this part of them measuring the weights for the bikes, but in the manga it's funnier, they cut everything, but that's okay

Chelsea is such a hacker, bruh ain't no way she photographically memorised the topography of the West Coast as though she has a built-in Google Maps in her brain. But then again, Senku is a literal walking encyclopedia; he's that much more insane.
It took both Chelsea drawing the topography map and Senku drawing a fax graph, SHORTER than simply transmitting the information to Corn City by manual Morse code. They did that overnight, whereas Chelsea and Senku probably finished drawing within several minutes.

Hilariously, when the chapter for this episode was published in the manga, the date was 13 December 2020, during the global pandemic of COVID-19. So the topic of remote work was wildly prevalent back then. That goes both ways for Stanley's crew, trying to repair their plane guided by Brody, and Senku commanding his team in Corn City to find the medusa and dismantle it.

Finally, Joel has made his debut in the anime. Probably one of the most essential figures in the story, as he's the first one to have dismantled the Medusa device itself. Bro even got petrified the first time he did it, cuz of the good old' trick of taking the battery out and putting it back in. I guess that means that the Medusa is actually constantly powered on as it actively listens to any verbal commands given to it at all times. That leads me to the next point...

💎Diamonds are forevaaaah💎
And so it is used as the primary power source for the Medusas. A Diamond battery is the name of a nuclear battery concept that uses radioactive waste to generate a small but continuous electrical current. That explains why it's always on, only truly turning off when the diamond is removed or after many large-scale petrification commands.

From what I know, the diamond battery concept uses carbon-14 (¹⁴C), a radioactive isotope with a half-life of 5,730 years. This means it will take over 5,700 years for its power output to diminish by half. That would explain how the medusa they got from the Treasure Island still has plenty of juice left over, given that that particular one was only several hundred years old from Matsukaze's era. The Medusa are designed to last for thousands of years before needing to be recharged.

On the other hand, it has a capability of recharging itself albeit very slowly, but I assume that the activation of the petrification beam would end up cooking the diamond regardless, staining them black, meaning that the diamond batteries aren't rechargeable, they're disposable like how AA batteries from the supermarkets usually are.

Man, I fucking love Dr. Stone... I might not have caught these back, I was reading the manga several years ago, but now that I'm re-experiencing the story via the anime, I can spot some of the real-world concepts utilised in the story.
Coincidentally, this is also the episode in which I've finally managed to catch up with the latest episode of Dr.Stone after first beginning watching the anime from S1E1. HELL YEAH!!! I caught up just in time before Senku and the rest arrive at the epicentre of the Global petrification event!

And as the cherry on top, we got a heartwarming and honestly wholesome moment with Chelsea's banter and her bluntly asking Luna about her weight and such. I'm so happy!

Ideal pacing to match the tension and speed of the earlier two seasons would have a whole season dedicated just to the nautical team's crossing of the Pacific from Cali to South America, with plenty of downtime to flesh out the characters on both ships and their relationships.

A subsequent season could've been spent on crossing the desert while the Cali crew iron out the uneasy cooperative diplomacy.

And then the next season after that could've covered this Andes conquest and began the rainforest exploration.

As it stands, this current pacing makes the entire show feel like a giant recap-style set of eps rather than a carefully crafted story.
@Spirelord

I must agree, it does feel rushed in a sense despite the anime pretty amazingly adapts the source material almost exactly 1:1

Even when I was reading the manga of Dr Stone several years back, the thought that the pacing is always so rapid never dissipated. However, you haven't seen the worst of it!

We're currently in the South America Arc
Wait until we're in the Globetrotting arc. So many different places, events and characters yet itr all felt like a flash. I hope the anime does more to mitigate that feeling by adding more anime original antics.

Casing point... The airplanes dogfight, that almost took an entire ep and it was exhilirating

Genuine question: are we supposed to believe this white and green haired child knows everything about absolutely everything

manual fax using a graph? how much time has this kid had to study these things? lol

entertaining enough episode but I hope for some substantial moments soon
most mornings while i drink my coffee i write lyrics. i've never had anywhere to put them so maybe i could put them on my blog. check it out if you want. it'll be updated most days lol https://myanimelist.net/blog.php?eid=909668

After having crossed the Andes mountain range the Amazon will not be something to sneeze at, for sure. Fierce bugs, illnesses, wild animals, extreme weather... I'm looking forward next episode to watch how they deal with it "à la Senku".

Also, there must be a reason for why the Medusa was originated in Manaos, in the middle of the largest tropical forest in the world... supposing it'll still be there.

Temporary escape from the pursuers 🙏 but how much space do they have to find things out. Stanley got the Morse Code from the other ep.

Man that girl got some serious lung capacity. Swimming down to get it from the bottom of the ocean. Holy 👀 Magna getting the leg lock of dreams over there. Deserved to be knocked out after the things he messes with from impulsiveness.

We're making fax machines in this day and age? 👀 XD Good we didn't jump a ton of centuries there. Otherwise I'd question whether or not the Roman Empire should have had fax machines. But looks like they got their hands on the specialist easily enough.

He was too dedicated to the job XD of course he took it for a spin.

Even with the setback, it's not the end of the world for Stanley and his team, while Senku and his small group heads for the Medusa's Ground Zero, while the other team preps the deactivated device, unknown of the real goal.

Remote working in the Stone World certainly isn't as advanced as the 21st century, but what Senku had in mind by using Gen to convert all into morse code as a way to "fax" the information is nothing short of ingenious, though it really requires very heavy manual work. With that in mind, the Corn City group unpetrifying only the vital members for reverse precision engineering the Medusa, and one of them by the name of Joel, even with his cocky attitude and Rolex wristwatch, he's the one absolutely for the job. And as it turns out, the Medusa's core being a diamond piece, it sure works.

Senku's group reaching the Andes Mountains, one step closer to Ground Zero, it's still aways away, but with the surroundings from the mountainous to the Amazon rainforest, and one Luna's ideal to date Senku in the rainforest (that Chelsea absolutely gets it) that he only sees it politically, the road ahead, by literally measuring everyone's weight on a makeshift scale, will scale everyone through the mountains...through a ropeway cable car?

Scientists always have insane minds, and this is one of them...

New, fresh info about the petrification device, delivered by another master artisan - Joel! It seems that its battery is nothing else but diamond.

I can't wait to see how the ropeway part of this arc will look like in the anime format. :D

By the way, poor Magma. That must've hurt. xD

I was surprised to hear them start dissecting now and without Senku present; I would have assumed he would have tried back on the ship. The need for a precision parts engineer like a watchmaker makes sense, though they could have explained that at the beginning.

Hmm, so it seems to run on diamonds?
