| I'm only on Episode 3, but I like that about the show. We could all be apologizing and thanking others more. Over the years people online seem to be getting meaner and more stubborn. It's like no one can admit they were wrong or they messed up. Never back down, never apologize, deny everything, take everything. Fair point about repetition, though, the writers should be working to avoid that. |

Roshidere is basically a copy of Classroom of The Elite but with romance sprinkled in it then, that kind of melodrama doesn't fit for a show that was meant to be a light romcom...
They did a lot of promos, taking into account the LN had high sales and Roshidere was animated by Doga Kobo so expectations were sky-high; but fans were disappointed because the story didn't align with the expectation in the end. I don't know if you care about its rating but the constant decline should reflect how overrated this show is. It's currently rated 7.57 and will drop further unless the show redeems itself in S2.
To the OP: I'm not a manga reader, but it's kind of a part of the work identity indeed. It doesn't really annoy me because it's to portray how polite and respectful the characters are to each other, and I prefer that compared to more toxic dynamics in other series.
Still considering if I should pick up Angel Next Door again. Should I read volume 5.5? Should I drop after volume 7 as recommended by other romance fans? Hard decision~

The main story of Roshidere is the student council president election, something I still don't care about in volume 10.

I really don't see anything wrong with that to be honest. It's normal to express gratitude when they feel thankful and also it's normal to apologize when they realize they have done something they deem bad. |

Even slower than Gimai Seikatsu~ Romance only starts at volume 8, but still very slow as most of the chapters are used on gags, which becomes distracting~ I got bored of Roshidere's gags in volume 4.5~ Well, Roshidere is not the slowest paced romance novel~ The slowest romance novel goes to Tenkosaki, I think you should avoid the anime when it airs next year since you dislike slow-paced romance~ I only read Roshidere for Alya's seduction attempts, nothing else~ As mentioned, I skipped chunks of paragraphs when it is Yuki, Masha or Nonoa gags~ The only other foreign heroine romance novels I am still following are Otonari Asobi, British Stepsister and the Nordic one~ Well, many romance fans keep promoting Ice Princess but I dropped it. XD |
