| @MomoSinX Yeah I feel like that was half the reason they chose him to be the director for this. He already had experience directing horror with Dark Gathering. Not to mention they also share staff for series composition and color design alongside the Musical Composer and Director. I feel like even though this seems like it’s going to have a lot of similarities to Dark Gathering. There’s also going to be a lot more that’s different about it. Most obvious one being that Kaya seems to punch and kill the evil spirits, while Yayoi fricken tortures them and makes them wish they could die more than they already did, so maybe less dark? Who can say. |

@MomoSinX Yeah I feel like that was half the reason they chose him to be the director for this. He already had experience directing horror with Dark Gathering. Not to mention they also share staff for series composition and color design alongside the Musical Composer and Director.

| @MomoSinX I think it's also pretty hard to make a show, especially an anime, that's much darker than Dark Gathering without going so over the top that it could end up just turning out weird or even comedic instead. That's a big reason why I liked it actually, It was really dark but not exactly scary, at least for me, and it didn't push itself too far over the edge trying to be as dark as possible like some other shows have which caused some issues for them. Horror is just a really hard thing to get correct in general, especially when it's made by translating black and white pages, which honestly are pretty much incapable of being scary but can still be dark, into an animated format, with color, motion, and sound. Which are the the key tools needed to make anything become scary. I think the general vibe I get from this trailer makes it seem like it's going to be more focused on character development and potentially be more of an emotional show than Dark Gathering. Which honestly, it's a really good thing, a show needs to have other things in it to help hold up the darker parts of it, because honestly just simply being dark or scary isn't enough for a show to truly be good, especially with anime. |
