| I really appreciate how this manga doesn't have the two protagonists constantly being in love with each other from chapter 1. It makes Shunpei and An's relationship feel very natural. Instead of forcing readers to think about the romance in terms of "progress," "hand-holding," and other saccharine, artificial ideas, we get to see characters who behave like actual people, and a dynamic that evolves over time. They don't even realize that they are in a romance manga right now, and I think that's amazing. Also, congrats, Ritsu and Kanako!! The entire class' reaction to them becoming a thing really reminds me of when the first couple in my grade level became a thing. Everyone was talking about Curtis and Sophie on that one field trip. |
