Spy x Family Season 3 Episode 9 Discussion

@Shingster This is actually Anya's second stella.
She got one pretty early by saving a kid drowning.

It was sweet with Yor and Anya being reunited 😭

I still don't know what's going on with Damien's mother, but it was nice that she seemed to love him at first before having the crazy switch-up 😅 and returning to her "Villa" (to I guess be the drunk solialite mom).

You know after SpyXFamily ends I'd live to see a timeskip of Anya and Damian as highschoolers it would be cool to see. I doubt that would ever happen but it would be cool to see, even if the show did just turn into a slice of life. Or a romance I suppose.

Regardless this was a good episode, it was actually cool to see Anya and Damian just break down and cry in front of their parents, shows that even with their circumstances they are still just kids at the end of the day and they still act like it.

That seemed to be the case for her husband/Damian's father being mentioned 😬😬😬 So much so, that at first I wondered if there would be a plot point that he's not actually Damian's father (although I just thought that for a few seconds, probably because I watch too many "Villainess"-type shows, and I guess they wouldn't go that direction).

Doesn't seem to be a healthy marriage either way though.

@Phantom_373 I actually think a timeskip would work very well. It would be far into the future obviously, but imagine a super spy / assassin Anya saving her parents from bad guys.

If Damian just realized that Melinda really dislike when his father is brought up, he probably would see her more.

Becky is just great keeping Anya in check.

I'm pretty sure Damian's mother reacts that way because she's scared of
Not sure if this season will explore that part of the story, probably not yet, but there's indeed some psychological trauma.

She's actually doing pretty well, considering she's two years younger than everyone else in her class.

did Lloyd figure out she needed 'demonic tutoring' because of her age and how far behind she is educationally? it has been so long since i re-watched S1 certain smaller details have slipped my mind.

What a great end to the bus hijacking arc omg 😭 this season has easily been the best of the show so far idc and it’s just getting better and better!!

So proud of Anya, Damian, Becky etc., very well deserved stella awards, but I feel like surviving a terrorist attack probably warrants more than ONE star, especially given Anya’s performance in the face of what seemed to most people to be sure death lol.

People will really call Yor a bad mother and here our queen is running to check up on Anya and make sure she’s ok! peep how Anya breaks down and hugs Yor because the place she’s most comfortable and happy is in her mommy’s arms 🥹 they might not be a conventional family, but that doesn’t make the love any less real. Damian is the same way with Melinda, but holy shit why does the mention of her husband get her so riled up. Does she hate him? Is she bipolar?(don’t spoil I’m anime only for now) I always kinda got the vibe from his dad that he could never really love someone romantically so it wouldn’t be too surprising.

I really like how Loid expresses how much he cares about Anya in his own way. He lost his parents so young so these moments with Anya are so special to him. The way he wanted to take her to school to avoid anything happening to her again was sooo cute. Anya trying to take advantage of his kindness by getting gifts is killing me lmao.

Speaking of Anya trolling, not her getting a big head because of the Stella ceremony and becoming a celebrity at school lmaoo. Loid really birthed this girl too because why is she doing twilight esque internal monologues and over analyzing things now lol. Poor Damian getting a little jealous and had to bring her down to earth a bit.. I love them sm. Great end to the episode and arc. Can’t wait for Twiyor moments next episode!!
