How it works

Everyone will secretly receive the name of another user who has signed up. They will have to choose an anime to recommend to that user, and send their choice along with a short text to Mishu (me), not to their recipient.

In this Secret Santa, unlike the one operated by MAL for example, once everyone has decided on their gift, I will pool all of the recommended anime together along with the accompanying text. Users will then have to decide on what to watch from the pool. This means that your original recipient may pick up a different anime from the one you recommended. Remember, there will be the original text from the donor, so maybe you're even able to guess which anime was meant for you!

How to write your recommendation

Take a look at the anime list of your recipient and think of what they would enjoy. Choose an anime you think your recipient would like, then write a short (or long, if you dare) paragraph explaining why you chose that anime. Please be thoughtful! Don't just send a title! Try to relate the anime to your recipient's taste, but in your text, never mention their name. It's okay to leave hints, but try not to make it too obvious who the gift is meant for!

December 14th: Last day to sign up
December 15th: Recipient names are sent to donors
December 24th: Last day to relay your gift to Mishu
December 25th: Gift pool is made public
January 1st: Last day to choose what to watch
January 2nd: Donor names are revealed
