One episode a year!?

Does anyone know why they’ve been releasing one episode a year, could it have something to do with the way the light novel gets published!?

There was always intended to be a gap between the prologue and main series, but I doubt it was meant to be as long as this. Likely due to production issues.

As for episodes 1 and 2, those were just released early at prescreenings. 1 for Fate's anniversary event, and 2 for FGO fest. But the main show was always going to air weekly, which will start this January

They announced that this time it'll be a weekly release. No idea why they released episode 1 so early though event or not.

Do we know how many episodes it will be? After so long I pray for 24 but now a days 12 is more likely which kills me inside.

most likely 12, the circumstances behind the production are absolutely horrid and even with 12 they would be struggling so 24 is unimaginable
