Very good episode, better than the last one.
It's easy to see that the MC is the main reason the story is so fun and interesting to watch.
IDK anything about the manga so I can't say how good it is as an adaptation, I see some people complaining, but as an anime-only I am enjoying it so far.

Decent episode. The rejection was unfortunate, since playing favorites is never a good thing, but at least we now know which of the four girls actually fell in love with the protagonist first. The tsundere girl, Nene. I’d love to see more interactions between the two of them in the upcoming episode.

Putting Nene aside, Rikka really got on my nerves this episode. Why ain't she doing what Arisu is asking of her, even though she SAW that his index and thumb fingers were injured, just to prove her wrong and show that he ain't all talk? I’m really confused and would appreciate an explanation.

I mean...that was better than last time. Not the biggest fan of the manga but I will say that through the phenomena of animation and voice acting I do enjoy the scenes of Arisu getting talked down to by the girls (namely Rikka and Nene this week) a lot more than I did reading. I did notice it last time but during the episode I did find myself enjoying the aesthetic the anime has chosen, the colors are very pretty, warm and fuzzy, yet with a comic style. I gotta wonder how those meetings with the production staff went when they decided on it because it's not one I've really seen before. ADORE the use of shadows during the whole thing.

smh. not sure I'm gonna watch ts anymore, man.
my most anticipated romcom ots got fucked up by Gekkou. fuck, it hurts.
my Rikka looks chopped. GOATabuki looks chopped too.
which Tezuka picked this instead of that other trash they're animating.

Ok this episode changes my opinion on the anime adaptation, before it was like "Oh no we are cooked" to "Woah this is actually a decent adaptation". I'm still waiting for the next episode, because that episode contains one of the cliché scenes that's in every harem series and this scene show how much of a GIGACHAD ARISU IS AND HOW MUCH OF THE GOAT HE IS.

The animation is a downgrade from previous episode. Nene's part is great but rikka's part isn't good. Too short and not much of a progress. I love the kiss from nene and i suppose she's ahead of everyone for now.

The opening is.... average. It did everything it needs to but nothing impressive. That 1.5 seconds of iko sipping tea is great tho. But obviously i'd prefer suisei's mv over this op.

Skipped the ending. Not my taste.

Yamabuki's way to trying to help out the girls is something that I find rather amusing. I do admire his passion and confidence, although it is funny when he does end up falling into despair more than once. XD

Rikka did prove to him that she can perform well on the stage towards her fans, although I do respect him for doing his best to learn how to play a guitar in one week to join her on stage, even if he let down her performance overall. I think she does respect him more as a result.

The same can be said for Nene. How Yamabuki went the extra mile to play the role of the knight in the manga that she wanted to do the audition for deserves a lot of respect while also making it enjoyable to see how upset the other students were at their "relationship". While it was a shame that Nene didn't get the role she wanted, aside from throwing him to the floor, she does like him more now as a result.

The OP is still a good song, with the visuals having a mixture of new panels along with some from the first episode. The ED, however, is really impressive. The song itself is great and the visuals are also very good, too. As before, the animation quality has its moments of good shots mixed in with more awkward ones, but it's not putting me off at all. It can be improved for sure, but it's not as bad as some people say it is.

Boring dialogue, uninspiring cliche characters, and lacklustre story - the only amazing point in this whole production is the singing voice of Irohana. But can’t stay around the show just to get 5 seconds of that singing.

even though the animation/art still not as impressive as the manga in my opinion, I like that the anime already used the unique title naming by using part of a convo as an episode title, which in the manga this title naming format will only be common later.

Yep, Rikka is as cold as I remember her.

I really like the part with Nene, it's funny and wholesome at the same time. That level of tsundere won't work against Yamabuki Arisu!

Edit: All the animation budget went to Nene throwing Yamabuki to the ground lmao

If I'm being honest, I'm a bit disappointed in this episode. The art direction was a bit off this week, with the characters going off model multiple times in the episode. Direction also felt stiffer than previous episode. The pacing was picked up too and some moments like the kiss scene do not feel that impactful. Honestly, if I was an anime only, I would think this is just another fine 7/10 harem. I really hope the production does not collapse, this is my favorite harem manga and I really want a good adaptation.

What really saves the episode though is Yamabuki, showing why he is the GOAT of harem protagonists. What a great character and the VA work is better than I could have imagined. I'm hoping people stick around though, cause there is a reason the manga is so highly rated, highest rated harem manga of all time even. I don't want a repeat of Amagami Sisters where most people leave before the story gets in the groove.

I heard about that primarily about the manga, and that the MC Yamabuki is a worthy GOAT MC maybe i should try it and then the Manga. For the animation i give a fuck as always as long it's no modern berserk animation xD.

animation was at least a bit better no?
@Nrman17 the problem is the emotion are not portrayed, the character is just like stand there, where this series are really showing the emotion and the atmosphere in the manga, its the voice after all

how has 'the singing one' not been scouted by now? her guitar work was excellent. intricate! even my lack of knowledge of Japanese vocals and such could bridge the fact she's got a dang good voice... add in the fact she's composing music already and lyric writing along with combining that voice, the instrumental talent, and lyrical gift DURING a performance... some folks can sing, some folks can play an instrument... not MANY can do both at the same time and the same levels as the individual skills.

what's up with 'the VA one' being such a dork with those kanji knowledge tests? those are standardized by age group and education systems in Japan. Level 1/N5 is for elementary school, Level 2/N4 is for middle school, Level 3/N3 is for high school, the final two are college and post-graduate/master's degree/education professionals. if she can't pass N3 and get her certificate before she graduates HS? that's gonna be a problem.

Well, I liked it, actually more than I expected. I saw online that people were trashing this anime, but personally, I don't think it's that bad.

I loved both dynamics, with Rikka and Nene. It even made me want to calculate the odds (something I've done with other anime, lol).

For now, my bets are as follows:

This would be just another generic harem/idol anime if not for our eccentric lunatic male lead. He is amazing in how he clashes with this genre in such an absurd way.

It's like Yamabuki was created in the same universe as Rentaro Aijo, but got isekai'd to world of this story.

What I like about this show:

MC: Unlike other protagonists in these kinds of stories, who are all good people and never do anything wrong, making them very boring to watch, the protagonist of this series is different. He's a kind-hearted protagonist, yes, but he's also somewhat arrogant and has an air of superiority, which makes him entertaining to watch because it leads him to get into some pretty crazy situations. I also like his dedication to helping the girls improve and achieve their dreams. All of that makes him a very good protagonist in my opinion.

Rikka: In the first episode, Rikka didn't immediately grab me, but in this one, she did. She and her voice are beautiful. I really liked the mini-concert she gave at school, and the part where she asks the protagonist if he has any idea how difficult it is to play in front of strangers and the courage it requires. I also really liked that. I'm not a singer, nor do I know anything about music, but I think she uses those mini-concerts she does at school as preparation for when she has to play on the street in front of strangers.

Nene: The reason why The reason I'm watching this anime is because of her. I had no idea this series existed, and one day on Instagram I stumbled across a picture of this character. I liked her design, looked up which anime she was from, and here I am. Well, where to begin with her? I suppose I should say that I like everything about her: her appearance, her personality, her attitude, her voice. Yes, that's right, I LOVE TSUNDERES! Watching her act all cold at the beginning, and then being embarrassed when she has to pretend to be the protagonist's girlfriend, was so adorable. Then there's the part where she puts on lipstick for the kiss scene, and the kiss she gives the protagonist when he's on the ground made her look so cute. And finally, my favorite moment in this anime, when she throws him to the ground with a judo move. Yes, definitely my favorite character in this anime.

I'm really enjoying this anime, and I'm definitely going to keep watching it. I'm looking forward to seeing more of the other girls; I'm sure I'll like them even more. I'd also like to see more interactions between them. They seem to have great chemistry; they know each other and care for one another.

For those who read the manga, I've been thinking about reading it because I saw that it has incredible art. Do you recommend it?

Wait a moment. As far as I remember, last week's ep animation wasn't like this and this week seems kinda off. What is this sloppy animation, cuh? As an anime watcher only, seeing this decline in quality, I find it hard to believe when people say this is one of the best-drawn manga of all time.

Arisu's training regimen for the broadcasting club understandably ran into a few roadblocks with Rikka not wanting to hear stage advice from someone utterly lacking in that experience. It was nice to see the MC in lock in behind the scenes after Rikka's wonderful song.

Nene was also doing heavy lifting behind the scenes, with her acting out that manga three weeks before auditions were held. The manga Author might have ultimately chosen someone else to play his princess, but Nene has certainly found her knight in Arisu.

Ok. Now we're getting somewhere.

The show has a good opening Not sure if I'll listen to it in the future, but it goes well with the show and animation. Hats off to Suisei.

Yamabuki working with the girls to realize their dreams is some good shit, and whatever he doesn't understand or can't relate to, he actively works towards to understand the girls better. Rikka's fun cause she's the only one so far to call him out on his bullshit, and Nene's good cause she's tsun-tsuning all the way to the bank. She's not my favorite so far, but she's trying to become a voice actor, so she's got my bias. I'm curious to see how Yamabuki will develop with the girls' help since he's probably got some issues he's hiding.

Good episode, can't wait for more.

It's definitely not the most polished of productions ever, but nonetheless it may have been able to get a chuckle out of me or two. At the very least, I think Nene, and even Yamabuki himself sometimes, will make this show worth watching. The dynamic between those two is easily the most fun to watch so far. Not gonna drop; it could be bad, but it might be just enjoyable enough regardless.

I am sure Nene is not Apollo, it might be Rikka or Shinobu
Rikka might be the main heroine, she is shrewd and episode shows that she is the one, maybe too early, but I bet there will be some plot twists later!
it can be same as with The Quintessential Quintuplets

very nice start of harem anime
