My question to the Japanese fans saying western fans only care about "animation" and "aura farming"

As per the Japanese fans claim western fans only care about animation and aura farming (which is true infact), but why they didn't question when JJK S1 and s2 had episodes with more action animation and aura farming had higher ratings?? Infact ep4 deserves 9.8 ratings or probably even 9.9.

Like Shibuya arc literally had plenty of actions and aura farming episodes with higher ratings but I've never seen these Japanese fans questioning it.

I feel more like these people hate that a woman took revenge for all those abuses against all these men is what made them angry. Like I have seen a poll from japanese viewers where Naoya was top5 in the list.

The one guy who said that was an idiot yes, but to accuse them of "actually being a misogynist" who surely is just seething because of Naoya is equally stupid. This is why internet conversation is so garbage.

The reason why Japanese fans like Naoya is his funny way of talking in dialect that gets completely erased in translation. Also, he got fifth mostly because of a single fan of his who guess what, is a woman.

I noticed many Japanese fans don't like the direction and thought the original was more sad and tragic, that's why they're complaining. I don't agree with them but there's no reason to start wars over this.

Goshozono is not a good director and Sunghoo Park is. S2 is overrated in that sense.
You're welcome. I answered your question.

It's because Episode 3 Season 3 would have score 7,7 in IMDB, right?

"JJK fans don't need Read" is real!!

You're quoting that post without context, like a lot of people on the internet.

The post was supposed to be a jab at the ratings
and reception of episode 3, which was apparently 'sleep inducing' for a lot of western viewers because of the info dumping.
That's to say, they don't really care about the lore, they're only here for hype fights.

Pretty sure no one had a problem with episode 4, even in Japan. Blame it on clickbaity anitubers and twitter-tards.

This entire debate is based on a (convenient) fallacy, because not caring about uninteresting info dumps doesn't imply only caring about visuals.

Japanese fans are claiming that people don't care about the lore of the anime and just care about the animation/aura farming/fights. Your opinion of how japanese people are angry about a woman beating men is just stupid and idiotic. All I can say personally is that an episode with little/no action will obviously be boring to most fans of an Action genre anime so it's understandable if it gets a low rating.

I’m Japanese so maybe I can give you an answer. First of all the reason some Japanese fans were disappointed was probably because the previous episode which did an extremely good job of explaining how the game was going to work, received very low ratings overseas, while episodes that just had lots of characters moving around and looked flashy got extremely high praise. This made them think overseas fans are only interested in the flashiness of the battle scenes and don’t have any other way to measure if an anime is good or not.
Second, I guarantee that there are absolutely zero Japanese people who are mad because a woman dominated men. What kind of prejudice is that.
The reason Naoya is so high in the poll is because almost all of his lines are used as memes among Japanese fans.

@AishaBi that's fake. Someone just wrote this rate to make the drama bigger and that's it

The approach to music and animation is subjective, but what annoys me about many of these Japanese complaints are, for example, some comments about the anime not being consistent with the manga, about the director changing something, etc. This episode is almost identical to the manga. Aside from slightly extended fights, we have scene after scene of what's in the manga. There are accusations that they changed scenes with Jinichi and Ranta, which show that he was worried. What kind of worry? That scene in the manga is about two panels, and Jinichi simply stares at him for sec. Thay it. Considering their approach to Ranta, for example, and trying to portray him as some kind of good guy, some of the accusations seem downright stupid. He is trash just like other Zenins. The Japanese accuse Western fans of being ignorant of the subject matter, of only caring about the fights, etc., while simultaneously consuming hundreds of garbage anime like isekai and others. Then, somehow, their superior taste goes unnoticed.

I can find faults in both your - which is a bit more pronounced - and the japanese fans reasoning
I say that because you can loosely understand where the japanese fan is coming from - even though theyre coming to their conclusion prematurely - whereas your conclusion is borderline ridiculous on how you've brought misogyny into all of this

Naoya isn’t popular because Japanese agree with him or think he’s a good person.
He’s popular because he’s a well-written character.

He’s consistently portrayed as a misogynistic, unpleasant man, and the story never excuses that.
In fact,

He also has a strong character design, which attracts fans despite (or because of) how awful his personality is.
He doesn’t get redeemed, he doesn’t overstay his role, and his exit feels earned.

While he has a lot of female fans, there are male fans too.
On top of that, the popularity poll allows multiple votes per person, so a small but dedicated fanbase can significantly boost his ranking.

JJK season 1 was like 5 years ago, back when the fandom was smaller, not to mention that the animation back then wasn't nearly as good as what we have right now in season 3.

Personally I don't care too much what Japanese fans think, although in this case they're correct about Westerners caring too much about aesthetics, and in the case of MAL especially, ratings.

Are you joking? S1 animation and art had much more quality than this poor ass work in S3.
