So ok well i got a idea from someone that we should all have a game night, where everyone who wants to, comes and plays a certain game at a certain time~
-Personally i think it is a great idea and so
- i need some help, first we need to find a game that we can all play, and have a agreed time and such, if anyone wants to recommend a game and a certain time, that be awesome, and then i can make another topic and people can sign up to join the game, and i will try to make it to every game but, if i lagg out or if its a long down load, hahaha.. yeaaahh...

yup so please post thoughts and ideas~

2nd post o/!!!(woot to unkown member! xD)

I like the idea, sounds like lots of fun :]. I must say, however, that arranging the GMT's will be the most difficult problem here(not to mention some game's IP blocking).

Aaaanyways, I have account on Flyff, Gunz, Pangya, Manga Fighters(and many others), tho I mostly play Flyff and Pangya atm. My GMT is -3.

Well, I'll play any game anyways, just say the word xD.

EDIT: erm...haven't seen the no download game part, scratch what I said >.<.

I am thinking about a game named "` RUNESCAPE `" it is a massive online multiplayer game that you don't have to download and so since it is no download we just hop in the game and do some random things~~
oh and suggestion of times would be nice- just qoute this

I actually don't recommend playing an MMO together, as the users who recommend them will be further ahead than those who just started, and that can create some problems. That being said, we should play a game where anyone can just pick up and play easily. I think something like osu fits the bill quite well, as only skill, and not time or status, matters (although time played also factors into skill).

thats infact a good this
most high level toons sometimes have ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO do at times..instead we can maybe help others who have started and train them to reach high levels such as ours
i do that a lot on PWI
in my faction/guild im the only high level of my class and i have to pretty much train the other 3 low levels of my class on it

Well, for instance, in most MMO's, users have to be at a certain level to, say, go to a dungeon together. That eliminates being able to pick up and play, so the only thing higher levels can do with lower levels is help them kill things, often taking away the XP. It's not a bad idea in the long run, but for a game night, it's too time consuming.

very true..i crossed lvl 40 and i can solo one of the first boss lvl 19 also today we did a Boss Hit with 2 lvl 50 me at lvl 41 and 2 mere lvl 20's who were told to stay bk at all times~
and no higher levels know the game more territories factions build for classes cords to help them search things different quests theyve done b4..call of duties etc..they can help them learn all game basics.
and we dont have to do game noght everyday maybe once a month would be goof and they can give game server time ^^

Well, yeah, it's a great idea for a continuous thing (this is the game night topic though >_>)

Curiously, about that game, how well does it fit people with a somewhat busy schedule? I hated high-end gameplay in some MMOs because everything revolved around a schedule, and it became impossible to follow the schedule after a certain point.

I don't think the idea is of an everyday game night either, considering that everyone has different routines and GMTs, but with time it CAN become part of your(routine). Also, if it's a MMO, lvling can be done separately too, and it doesn't require all the involved to be online.

I agree with ARXlaevatein that playing a "pick up and play" game is probably a good idea for game nights, or at least to start off with. MMOs are fun, but if there are a mass of low levels (experienced or not, I don't think everyone who has played the same MMO is going to be on the same server), is generally a bad thing.

My only experience with MMOs is being one of those WoW players who played too much (Hooray for 3-4 hour raids?) but the only thing I can really recall a mass of a bunch of players at such a low level were gnome races, other than that... you end up fighting for the random mob that spawned... which was also a real pain in the FF11 beta...

It could work, but if a game night picks up speed, might be a pain to play a game like that

Yeah, I was a high end WoW player too. Most guilds had a CST schedule, so it started pissing me off that I ended around 3 am every time, so I stopped playing WoW.

Any of those pick up shooters might be a bit better, as Shooters are more pick up and play than MMOs. I've heard S4 tossed around, which is pretty good, I think.

on my server the faction that has most territories [all except two =.=] i heard they pay their member for stayinfg there

bloody hell they control game economy..things are sky rocketing..most guilds dream of going to war with them someday

Yeah I ended up quiting WoW from getting sick of teaching people to not stand in fire...

Playing a shooter could work, as long as its one of the more basic games... as long as its a game that doesn't have people swearing at the lag (Gears of War2... if there is a fight between people of near equal skill... being near the host or being the host all together would win the game >.>)

I guess my main problem with playing an MMO with a large amount of people is if you can get it to work for one night, if people level their characters on non game nights (and since I'm pretty sure if this does work, it would be a weekly or monthly thing, the chances are high), it loses the feel of a game night and turns into a pseudo-recruitment campaign :)

lmfao!!!! i swear at lag on PWi sometimes
see for the game night we could get together some high levels who know the way round the rest atleast after they level to 20 and run a fun squad quest through maybe a cave or something or just explore maybe help one another
sometimes ppl just stand next to each others toons and talk even

on the other side, I'd say its a good idea to go with a MMO if there are only a few people up for game night, as the problems I mentioned become mute... and I know that playing with a few people you know in games like these keeps the feeling of fun alive for a longer time

Standing and talking sounds like the dreaded Idling in Dalaran in WoW lol

I guess trying to figure out how many people would show up for a game night should probably come first instead of a handful of people bickering on which game to play now that I think about it

Shooters would work better for night raids, that's pretty much true, but don't forget the lag varies from region to region. For example, an US player on a US hosted games doesn't lag, while all others do. Shooters will come up with a lot of issues too IMO. I honestly find MMOs or other types of online games more appropriated as we're all around the world.

I actually think the best pick up and play MMO would probably be Guild Wars, as someone could make a high level character for PVP right off the getgo. Besides, I really don't think a lot of people are free enough to keep up with the other players in an MMO on offtimes. When another meeting comes up, the levels would probably vary greatly, and the activities we can do collectively become limited. The low levels would have to stay back, while the high levels slaughter everything. That becomes quite dull. Idling and chatting isn't very befitting of a game night.

and squads cant be too big either..we'll just run something fun..high levels can run while low levels help

My problem with MMOs is that our standings aren't going to be static, if we have say 7 people in the first game night, all is fine if we don't touch our new characters, but it is plausible for people to level on their own on their own time, and if more people show up for the next week or month, you don't have much of a choice but to try and catch them up or split the group.

For shooters... well I know that having people in separate provinces or states can cause blood to boil, let alone countires (>.<), but the idea was that a game with static standings would be a safer idea for trying to have more than 1 or 2 game nights.

Also, if we are rolling with any game, either an exceedingly popular game or a free game is probably also a safe option, at least for me, if I don't have a paid game... well I'm too poor to go out and buy it >.>

Well, I was hoping that for game night, everyone would be at the same level, without time played seperating the playing field. MMOs by nature make this ideal harder to achieve, but it can still be done.

Btw, we don't have to necessarily lvl differently either. If we can keep up the same team for night games, all we need to do is to keep chars only for it and nothing more.

What about if everyone was a new player, just for the hell of it~
or else we can just have it as a showing players who are interested in the game night, where people play a MMO and the experienced players show them around or something~
Or else we have to find another type of game
im thinking boxhead bounty hunter~ xD

Again, its fine if its always the same group, but if new people join on new game nights and people from old game nights can't or don't show up, after a few nights, we can still end up with a bunch of people at separate levels

On a personal level, as long as its not a single player first person shooter, I'm good for anything (like that could work anyways lol). Osu looks like something that is easy to start up, free, and if everyone likes it, it would be an easy game to come back to... sounds like a good choice to me (at least to start with)

@ARX thx :D, I still have around 10 more minutes to stick around, but installing it now would make me anxious, so I'll at that(the download, that is).

@Shogun Yea, and more people joining is bound to happen time or another, but we'll have to circle things around, whatever that is we're playing. After all, even if it's not the level issue, there's the skill issue, etc. We'll always have some problem to deal with, but we'll have to face it either way.

Hmm, "game night" wasn't really ringing an MMO vibe for me... I agree with those who have made it clear they think something "pick up and play" is most suitable. We could go for retail or free games...the first few should be very accessible though. Maybe we can split off into MMO and shooter groups or w/e after we've all had some time to play something together.

As for the suggestions i've seen so far(ignoring MMOs): Osu, boxhead bounty hunter

I've played osu in the past...not sure how much of a multiplayer game that counts as but we could chat and play I guess...

Boxhead Bounty Hunter looks kinda ridiculous and definitely accessible but I'm not sure I'm feeling that it's a good game...

My personal suggestion for a first game night would be just making a few rooms on omgpop.com it would be extremely easy and accessible and people could hop in and out all night. We could try to find who we get along well with and pick a future game night game since there would be a lot of chatting.
