Not sure because I never read the manga, but from the scenes in the OP and from what I can gather, she is probably Toshi's sister. You have to recall that his parents left him at such a young age and he now lives with his grandparents. It would make sense that after his parents started a new life, they had another child. Plus, she's only a high school student, so the age would fit also. Regardless, I think Mayumura's pitching is going to be light's out from here and change the flow of the game. Though who knows.... |

| Waaaah, so it was Mamiko Noto that was back in episode 8! I guess she's Toshi's sister... he had one right? (I didn't spoil myself yet =x ) If she is, it's no wonder the parent took her away; it's like they foresaw Toshi being a loser. |

| Well we knew Toshi had a sibling, I should had known from the opening that his family was going to come back into play. Curious how that is going to work... As usual Goro's team acts like idiots, but this time Goro can't come in and save them. Who will pull the rabbit out of the hat this time I wonder. |

| Aw I was disappointed cos I thought Waka was Kawase at first and I was looking forward to seeing her again. She's obviously Toshi's sister though, this episode gave so many hints you'd have to be pretty slow to not get that. |
| Man, they are getting crushed pretty hard right now. They should send Goro to the outfield to change the mood, cause this is getting hard to watch. Also I think the moral of this game is going to be "don't abandon "small ball" to try and finish it quickly with home-runs" or something dumb like that. |

| The team is falling apart... If only there hadn't been those 2 points after the pitcher change, the pressure would have been much less. I've been wondering since the beginning why he didn't made Mayumura play sooner. I still don't have the answer. That new girl is... awkward. She always seem nervous. |

| I figured that Waka was Toshiya's sister while she was still talking to Shimizu in the restaurant. I guess it's a pretty common thought based on this thread. Japan is in a really tough spot. Even if Mayumura keeps the Dominican Republic shut out for the rest of the game, there's a big run deficit they need to overcome. |

| in the start i thought waka would be ayane, but it's kinda hard to say since why she needed to lie, she probably have some connection to toshi we don't know yet. i didn't understand why they didn't brought mayumura right after the first pitcher, it's like the writer wanted for japan to be in pinch. though that i still think this season to be the best, the pace, the OST, art, everything! |
| I was looking forward to Mayumura as Goro isn't allowed to pitch and the team being in a pinch, but sadly he wasn't so impressive but hopefully he'll show some incredible plays like Goro does. On a sidenote I highly suspect Waka to be Toshi's little sister whom his shitty parents took with them, as she shows interest in him thats definitely not romantic and I can't think of any other possible connection that has been shown before in previous seasons. |
