| As Aaron and Roku travel through the desert, the great city of Xerxes disappears from view. "Roku I want you to know something.. Amos could have gone to Hell. The edge of the desert is far, very far away, but he could have made it to Hell itself. That's one possibility. Another is that he's hiding out in a ruin somewhere along the edges. Long ago before the Universe the Earthlings know was created, the Cherub lived in a Utopian society. This desert was endless, and had a bright and colorful feel to it. A feel of happiness. They were the only sentient beings living here, and there were no other realms in existence.. until a group of cherubim people created Hell. Their intentions were set to rid their perfect world of the wrongdoings of other cherub. This act was considered tyranny and treason by the rest of the society, so the cherubim leader banished the entire group, and their leader to the underworld. The majority of the society were so pleased that they used the power of fate and manipulation of life energy, known as chi to us, as a catalyst to create a Heaven. For the following billions of years, the three worlds set in peace. What none of them knew, however, was that they were all slowly ripping eachother apart. This fissure, or tear in space, resulted in the massive nuclear explosion the humans know as the big bang.. it created the universe. The following 13.7 billion years were hellish on the four worlds. Otherworld fell into catastrophe. The Utopia that the cherub once called home collapsed upon itself in all sorts of major areas around the desert, and the making of the universe tore otherworld to the point that it was no longer endless, but the world turned flat and the edges were the only entrance to Hell. The skies above housed the Heavens. The great city Xerxes was the only thing left standing because it was in the middle of the desert, though at the time Xerxes was called Zahav, the hebrew word for gold. It was the capital.. even though the world was twisted and fractured, Xerxes still stood but suffered major collapses. It fell into disrepair and ruin. Eventually, humans that died in the universal plane known as Earth were said to have risen from the sand of the great desert in Otherworld, and made their way to Xerxes to live. The demons of Hell and the angels of Heaven were always waging war using their pawns known as Hellbenders and Godsend. Their powers trace from the use of ki, spirit energy in both worlds. Ki is dominant on Earth but here, the chi is. It's weird. On Earth, ki is almost impossible to control yet it's most abundant there. Here, the chi is most abundant yet ki users have maximum potential here. Us Halves are here to keep balance between the two forces, even if it means killing them off. We take no sides but our own. We couldn't join sides if we tried, it's just not in us. Something about our powers just won't let us side with either of the Heavens or Hell." "Well, that's just the stories I've heard atleast.. I'm not sure if they're true.", August said to Roku as they continued in their journey. After a long silence, Roku stated "So that's it, huh. You know, I can't remember my life on Earth. All I remember is a drowning feeling as I crawled up out of the sand of this very desert. I only remember living on Earth.. not anything about my life. What about you, August?" "I lost all memory of even being here after the Cherub grasped me. They say that happens, but you'll retain all consciousness of your current state even if all but your head remain intact from a Cherub attack. The one that took me by the hands.. wasn't attacking me. The way it's eyes were looking into my soul, I felt like he was giving me a gift. Like he wanted me to do something. I don't know, it was scary. Both of my arms' flesh were missing." "Wait, August.. if both of them were missing flesh and all that remained was the skeleton.. why do you have normal arms now?", Roku asked. "Oh, that's simple. You know that Halves are able to construct things with chi, right?" he asked Roku. "Yeah, chi manipulation. I know," Roku answered. "Well it's like that. I form layers of life energy around my arms to cover it up. As far as anyone else knows, I am regular. I wear these glasses to hide my turquoise colored eyes." "Oh, I see," Roku replied. After a day or two of traveling, the group came up around a hand sticking from the sand. August pulled up a body, beginning to awaken. The man screamed "W-WHERE AM I?! WHAT IS THIS PLACE, I WAS JUST.. Where was I? I can't remember anything! It's on the tip of my mind but I can't remember!!!" "Calm down," August said. "You were living on Earth and you've passed away. This is the great desert of Otherworld, the realm you enter after death," August explained. "B-But don't you go to Heaven or Hell after death?" the man asked. "No, if you are met by an untimely demise here, you will be judged by your actions of Otherworld and sentenced to Hell or admitted to Heaven. Listen, the city of Xerxes is a couple days south of here. I want you to go there and find this address. It's a ramen shop, tell the old man there that Aaron of August sent you, and to give you a place to stay for awhile." "Thank you.. Aaron of.. August?" he replied. "It's no problem, I'll have to be off now. Do take care." as the two traveled on.. |

| Following a few days, Roku and August travel on in the seemingly endless desert of Otherworld. They've passed various ruins, but nothing turned up. Even so, the number of people they pulled out of the sand increased daily. "So.. Roku. If you're going to be an ally I'd like to know more about you. What is it you do?" August asked. "I build and fix things. I work on motors and gadgets. It's not just a hobby, it's a way of life. It's like my brother used to say, 'It's not a hobby for you Roku, it's your way of life.', and he was right. He never really understood me until he finally figured out it's just the path I took, you know?" "I see.. so you have a brother? What is his name, what does he do?" August asked. "Oh, my brother. I haven't seen him here in this world at all. I don't think he's actually dead yet. His name is Kisuke but I call him Kei. He's a master of martial arts and he'd begun studying about other forms of it, like ki harnessing. Soon after he would train only in that. It seemed so hard for it but he actually did it, he could use spirit energy. It wasn't much, but it looked so cool." "When he does get here, he'll be thrilled to find out that it will be much easier to control it. This place is teeming with spirit energy, even though the realm is made of chi. It goes hand in hand. They both exist here. Hmm.. I haven't a good comparison, but I guess you can imagine a good meal without seasoning. Imagine the meal is made up of chi, or life energy. The ki, or spirit energy, would be the seasonings and everything that adds to the meal itself. They work hand in hand, even if you don't necessarily need seasonings, it's much better to have them. In our case, we're full of seasoning I guess you could say!" "I never looked at it that way," Roku chuckled. |

| 3 Years ago *A loud crackling flame could be heard for miles but no one would hear because no one was around to listen. This crackling ended quickly and was followed by crying.* "WHY!!! WHY DID I DESVERE THIS!!!" Today *Marvin can be seen walking around the desert about a week away from Xerxe.* "Where are you Norton." |

| "Wait, Roku shut that thing off.." August said to Roku, as Roku turned his hoverboard off. "I hear.. crying. It's soft, and I can't really hear it through the sandstorm but it's there."; He listened on. The crying grew louder, and the two walked further until out of the sandstorm walked a ragged man. His eyes; a blue green color. His arm; a metallic skeleton. "..You're a Halve. Mind telling me what you're doing out here? What is your name?" August asked. "August I don't think this guy is safe.. his energy readings keep fluctuating and I can't get a positive read on him, but the wavelength is almost exactly alike Norton of November. Do you think-" "Possibly.. All we can do for him is send him in the right direction of Xerxes. Uhm.. Hello, I don't know if you understand me but we can't have any company right now. You see, I'm searching for someone. Someone who is overall very dangerous. We just can't have you with us. I'll tell you what, if you follow this," as August hands him a compass, "and go directly South, you'll make it to Xerxes in about a week's time. If you are indeed a soul fraction, then you need to meet up with whoever you split with. In this case, it's quite possibly Norton of November." August hands him an extra cloak. "Take this, too, to protect yourself from the sandstorm. I wish you luck, friend." "Roku we need to move, there is a ruin up ahead. We can rest there." |

| *Pretends to walk to Xerxe but after about an hour of walking he started running towards August keeping out of site .* (He was crying 3 years ago. not now.) |

| (Aw damn I missed that part, my bad. Wasn't really paying attention.) "This ruins are huge.. must have been one of the bigger cities.", August stated looking down at the giant crater of ruins. "We can stay the night in one of the-" August was interrupted by Roku, "August my watch is messing up, the energy readings are flying off the chart. It's that one guy.. the Halve." "Him again.. damn it we don't have time for him we have things to do.. You, whoever you are, show yourself!" August demanded. |

| *A turquoise phoenix soars into the sky and it claps it's wings together causing an implosion making a bigger explosion. The phoenix disappears. and everyone with in a 50 mile radius would be found blinded and paralyzed for 30 seconds.* |

| August and Roku let out a yell, both incapable of moving. "I-I can't see!" August shouted. "Ur-gh! What is that?!" Roku said. As the following 30 passed, August and Roku were in awe. "Was that the guy we met?" August asked. "Yeah that's him, same energy patterns." "Heh..heheh.. You can try that little trick again, my friend, but you'll find it very difficult to affect me now that I'm on my guard. If you are indeed Norton's split, I won't hold back.. do you understand..?" August grinned. "Houshutsu Mugen," he murmured as his arms blew up with chi, changing them into skeletal arms. I beam-looking sword formed in August's hands. "If you don't show yourself now I will crumbled the surrounding area in chi, forcing you out.." |

| *Marvin reveals himself.* "I would but that away before you get us all into trouble." |

| "The only trouble it will bring is to you.. I know this desert like the back of my hand." August scolded, holding his sword up to the man. "If you wish not to fight, you shouldn't have attacked us. We haven't the time for you. If you're looking for Norton, he's in Xerxes. A week from here, South. I am not taking on any more companions other than Roku. You are lucky I do not cut you down where you stand." |

| *Sighs. Marvin points at the ruins as 20 nightmarish looking creatures come out of them. The creatures see Augusts chi blade and start darting towards him.* "I wasn't attacking you." |

| (I planned on making things in the desert, and you gave me the perfect chance!) "Ahh, heheh. I see. Sand Devils." and in a quick sweep of his blade, a giant blue/green explosion wiped the sand devils away. "Roku why didn't you detect them..?" August asked. "What? Don't blame me, my gear doesn't pick up on those kinds of things." "Whatever.. now that they're out of the way, we have to get moving. We don't know if Amos is in Hell or still out here somewhere. For a few hours I've been picking up on his trail of energy." August stated. "How do you know its his?" asked Roku. "Because it's identical to my own." August answered. "It's been growing stronger to the Northwest.. which is bad." "Wait, bad? Why is it bad?" asked Roku. "It's Cherubim territory. They inhabit the area. We can cloak our energy and they won't feel us, but the more people along, the more dangerous, and I don't feel like fighting a bunch of chi-wielding skeletons. I'd have to enter Gaikotsu Sage form. I don't very well feel like entering Gaikotsu Sage form and protecting two people at once. He cannot come with us. Whatever your name is, I'm sorry. You cannot follow us further. You will be endangering not only your life, but ours as well. That is not something we need to happen if it's possible to be avoided. Go to Xerxes, Norton is there with Demera. Come, Roku." Roku starts up his hoverboard and follows August through the shifting sands, on towards the Northwest. |

| August stops. "I feel his energy coming from there, and my senses never mislead me. Especially to my own soul fraction. He is there, I promise you." The two continue on, and on. Hours passed in silence, until Roku broke it. "What do you think he meant by 'you won't find him there'?" he asked. "I don't know, but Amos is definitely in this direction. The trail of energy is getting stronger and stronger by the hour. I fear that if he's in danger of the cherub, he could very easily turn into one, transforming me as well. My fate is tied to his for we are one. He is a part of me, so he will think smart. I do not doubt him." |

| In August's mind, a dim voice echoed and morphed. Demera of December said: "R.. Roku's.. brother. Roku's brother is looking for him. "STOP! Demera contacted me! Roku she said your-" August was interrupted by a silhouette emerging from the sandstorm they had entered an hour back. "My lord it's Amos," August gasped. "He's cut up. He looks dead." "YOU! What are you doing here, you are the last person I want to see for the remainder of my life!" "I've come to destroy you, Amos. If you die, I die, and I cannot afford to perish." August bluntly stated. "You're nearly dead anyway, I can't let you die. You need to refract with me. Please, you're going to die anyway." "..Curse you! Why did you have to show up! I hate your guts! I hate your guts!" he screamed before August interrupted him and jabbed him in the neck with his hand, knocking Amos out. "Regardless, I must destroy you." August begins to siphon energy from Amos' body. The body begins to turn white and expressionless, as a faint facial-like feature flies through the siphoning stream of energy into August. When the energy completed its siphon, August's eyes blue up with blue green energy. He began to open his mouth, with overflowed with energy as well. His entire body raised from the ground into the air and chi blew up all around him. His voice was different.. As soon as he spoke, it had a tone to it that would fit a possessed victim. DIE, AMOS! BEGONE FROM MY BEING. TARNISH MY SOUL NO MORE, YOU FREAK OF NATURE! GET. OUT. OF. MY. BODY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The energy stopped, August fell. Getting back up, Roku was in shock. "W-what was that?" he asked. "I was destroying him. He no longer resides within me or in any realm. He exists no longer." August explained. "To get back to what I was saying before hand.." "..your brother is looking for you." he said. "WHAT?! KISUKE IS IN XERXES?! I HAVE TO GET THERE, FAST. I CAN JUST USE MY HOVERBOARD AND WAIT FOR YOU!" he shouted. "No, I have a better way. Just attach that hoverboard onto your back. Right now I have more energy than I can possibly use." Chi erupted around August. "Gaikotsu SAGE FORM!" he shouted, as it all enveloped him and transformed him into a full skeletal being. His voice was completely different, like it was during Amos' destruction. "Get on my back, Roku," and surely enough he did so. "This is going to be fast but we will make it in only a couple of hours," August explained. "I'll waste off all the excess energy in one direction straight to Xerxes." August exploded with chi, launching at high speeds southeast towards Xerxes. |

| Kai wandered around, as always, alone. Looking at the enviroment that was the desert. Not much was to see. "I hope to find some food soon.", he said to himself. After wandering for awhile, Kai had felt the prescense of some people and walked their way. It seemed that someone had heard something he searched for and launched towards the city of Xerxes. "I see he has haste.", he said while trying to follow Roku with his eyes. Kai decided to follow Roku, since Kai thought that he knew where he was going. Kai had thought that it would be a city and since Kai hadn't eaten for long, he tried to follow Roku, even if he had high speed. "I wont get far with just walking.", he said and stopped, "I should have enough power left to use my shadow here.", he said and commanded his shadow to bring him towards Xerxes. |
