| I think we should start making something instead of planing. Since it's first one I will chose topic and anime's (if you don't mind) but in 2nd number you will chose what we will have in magazine. I think we will start with Ecchi-Comedy thread since it's easier and many of you are familiar with this topic. Two main anime should be: -Rosario + Vampire - MistressSheena -Midori no Hibi or To-Love-Ru Two main manga should be: -Mysterious Girlfriend X -Sundome Music Corner: -Soul eater OST -High And Mighty Color - Goover - DaBigD -n/a Game Corner: -Persona 4 - Kuronoa Japan Insider: -Cosplay Those topics that have n/a in it are undecided. Feel free to suggest any of them, since I don't want to choose everything on my own. It would be helpful if you post what topic you want to write/review so I can keep track of it. EDIT: this is how contest should look like 1 page - cover of course :P 2-3 - contest and little intro in this magazine 4-5 - 1# anime 6-7 - 2# anime 8-9 - 1# manga 10-11 - 2# manga 12-13 - Music Corner (we migh add 4 OST's/album's so its easily sliced) 14-15 - Game corner (1-2 games depends on text) 16-17 - Japan Insider 18-19/21 - fan art and story from Writers Club NOTE: contest might change, it depends on size of text and pictures |

| Mysterious Girlfriend X vs Sundome. lol On a serious note, what structure do you plan to have? Like, cover pg 1 — index/contents pg 2 — letter from the editor pg 3 — promotional / fanart pg 4 — first article etc. EDIT: wait, who's the editor? Is it you? We need a hires cover picture (at least 765x990). |

| For that 3rd music section I can suggest Kannagi. ^_^ OP: motto☆Hade ni ne and/or ED: Musuhi no Toki both by Haruka Tomatsu. For gaming, are you agreeing on just Japanese gaming? I'm in the mood for Shining Force Feather so I could write up a little article for it. For reviews I can do Persona 4. |

-UDPDATED- @Kuronoa: is that single song or OST? Only accept OST/albums I would like to point out for writers to take other topics, except anime/manga since we can always copy/past it from MAL. And I might take Soul Eater OST and writers may suggest OST/album they are listening/listened so they don't need to go trough to much hassle (downloading album, listening to it several time, etc.) And one more thing I'm making dummy contest how should, for an example, everything look like. |

But thing is that we have more than enough time to make everything on time so I think that we will never see copy/paste thingy ^^ Kanashimi said: I could write about cosplay though that's a big range of things to write about. | OK, got a workflow idea here: What needs to be done first issue (only) (Editors): • Decide on zine structure (ToC, LttE, regular columns, etc.) • Decide publishing frequency • Decide on MALzine logo • Decide on interior layout What needs to be done every issue: 1. Pre-composition (Editors & Writers): • Decide on theme for issue • Decide on main topic(s) for issue • Decide on subtopics for issue • Decide on guest writers (who & what about) • Decide on extra content (fanart, promo posters, polls, etc.) 2. Creative (Editors): • Get articles written • Get columns written • Compile contest/poll results (if any) • Get fanart(s) made (if any) 3. Composition (Designers): • Choose main cover image • Choose interior/article/column images • Choose other cover images (if any) 4. Compiling (Designers & Editors): • Create cover • Create article/column layout 5. Publishing (Designers & Editors): • Export to PDF • Upload to host • Post new issue So far so good. Although I would like to know the structure, so I can get started on basic layout concepts.. You mentioned using a Flash viewer for the zine — would this be an upload service that automatically plugs it into a viewer, or would someone have to make a custom .swf? I can't Actionscript to save my life (yet). |

Kuronoa said: I might give my original story LiGHT X DaRK its serialized premier. The first chapter is here: Link Future chapters will be a magazine exclusive. XD So there's unique stuff in the e-zine. It is rather short so someone else's story can accompany it. Saved on PC. Anyway please send reviews/texts to me in PM. I think this will spoil some fun reading magazine for someone. |

| For the game corner, are you fine with small "quick gameplay reviews" to add some filler on the section? Like paragraph articles on the side bar of the page? And for the games, I don't own a PS3 or 360 but I do have everything else. So sooner or later you'll need somebody to help fill in that blank in later issues. |

Y'know, at most 2 reviews per mag, any more are put in storage in case the reviewer can't do it one issue. EDIT: Thanks for the zine format. I'll get started on a temlate. EDIT 2: 1 - cover 2 - intro (for first issue or so) 3 - contents Alright, that's good. However, I think you should mix things up in the mag, maybe: game corner #3 article #4 article music corner #2 article #1 article story fanart back cover (?) (no page #'s because we want to be flexible) Notice how I've ordered the articles: #1 is the main one, the one that gets the big pic and sub-title on the cover. #2 gets a sub-title and maybe a smaller pic on the cover. #3 and #4 are in the contents, maybe with pictures (contents pages are a little more dynamic in magazines than in books). Any of them can be manga/anime articles; it depends on the focus of the issue. |

Main topic should be noticeable on cover and main anime/manga under the main topic on cover but a little smaller than main topic. Others should be on cover but not much noticeable. I'm thinking to ask Creative corner to make some fan art based on story so we can join them in one. What are you thinking about that? |

| I finished two reviews, but was rather picky with the details so I fixed it up. Still, more than one reviewer is good actually so I'd love to share a section with Grimmy here. ^_^ One for Persona 4 and one for Castlevania Judgment. P4 is long and the other is like a sidebar review (short). I dunno if you wanted italics for titles and whatnot so you could add them in if you want. |
