I HATE her. i mean she is cool as a mew mew but the leader!!!!!!! please i feel bad for Ichigo. that is why i hae Berry why was she even made the leader. as soon as Ichigo was back she should have return being the leader. I would be furious if i were the girls to recieve a new leader like that and act all friendly with her.
love always,

I tried to like this character, but she simply didn't make any sense. For one, why does she need to have TWO animals? No one else had two, why a rabbit and a cat? I thought they were doing endangered species, but I'm pretty sure rabbits aren't and...wasn't the cat just a normal house cat or something? I can't even bring myself to remember her character. Also, why does she have all of Ichigos move minus the straw part? Berry just felt like a Mary Sue character and I found it hard to believe that this was canon...especially since it seemed like the characters haven't aged a bit would would mean that Ichigo and Masaya are still in school, but are on their honeymoon? Plus it took a while for Zakuro to accept being in a group, but she's fine with having a whole new leader?
Nothing about Berry makes sense to me and quite frankly, I wish she didn't exist.

Berry, and this entire manga, is what you get when the editor walks up to the first 10 year old girl they see and tells them to write a fanfiction for Tokyo Mew Mew.

Berry was infused with Amani Rabbit and Andean Mountian Cat DNA. They’re both endangered species. And Ichigo was not on a honeymoon but was studying abroad with Masaya for about 4 months. This won’t make the series any better but still lol

I don’t mind the idea of Berry having two types of DNA but the execution of the story and her character were incredibly underdeveloped. I liked Berry in the beginning and her chemistry with Tasuku but overtime she became so DULL. She was absolutely a Mary Sue to the fullest.

Ironically, Tasuku’s name means to “save” someone. It makes darn sense since he always seems to be saving her πŸ˜…

Interestingly enough, I actually did end up rereading some of it recently and also read the epilogue thing that the original author wrote. I ended up also doing a bit of research so youre right about those two animals being endangered, but the interesting part is that between the those two animals....theyre both a brown or tan color so who knows where the white color came from, but it definitely makes more sense now that I know that the author didn't actually write a la mode so all of the plot holes and bad writing ends up....making sense on why it doesn't make any sense. I still don't care for her character overall, but I typically can't stand Mary Sues;;
Still, her design is cute so there's that, but thats about it

Not gonna lie I got rid of my A La Mode manga after I re-read it for the first time in 5 years πŸ˜‚ like, I used to love it as a kid, but I agree with you, it just never made any sense. The writer should’ve been around for this project. I wonder if the manga will get animated since we are getting a remake of Tokyo Mew Mew. If so, I hope it would be better than the abomination we got lol

Honestly, thats fair haha. As a kid, things didn't have to make sense, but when you get older youre like "Wow, look at all these plot holes..."
My little sister used my mangas as a coloring book so I actually have been thinking about rebuying the whole series minus A La Mode haha :')
From what I read, the writer didn't want to do anymore afterwards, but the artist wanted to so they did it on their own;;
Hopefully it'll be better! Only one way to find out! I never watched the original anime though. Do you happen to know if its worth watching or should I just wait for the remake?

Yeah definitely don’t buy A La Mode, not worth the money lol

Since I never sat through the whole anime, I can’t really give my full opinion on whether it’s worth watching or not. However, one of the reviews for the anime by @Firechick12012 did a really good job differentiating the anime and manga, so it’s better to judge from this persons review. You’ll be able to find it on the TMM anime page. Oddly enough, the anime is rated slightly higher than the manga, which, I’m not surprised because the manga had so many flaws. If the remake chooses to fully adapt the manga, I would hope they could make additions similar to the original anime like Firechick12012 had stated.

Definitely not planning on that haha

Ohhhh. I just went to find it and read it....now I kinda wanna watch it haha. I've been meaning to force, I mean....ask my fiance to watch it with me since the remake is coming out. I've already read whats out of the spin-off haha;;
52 episodes isn't too bad. its honestly a lot longer than I expected though since the manga wasn't all that long, but that just means that they got some nice background fillers which is always nice which is mentioned in the review. :)

I've just finished it and I don't think she needed to have two animals. It comes across as a fan fiction type trait someone would choose to make their character stand out. She just needed to be a rabbit. There's already a cat mew mew. I don't dislike her personality though.
Slimes say "Goo'd day".
