Sailor Moon Eternal Edition
| That's it. She's dead. Buried. Gone forever. This terrible anime adaptation has made me dislike Sailor Moon to the point that she might as well be dead and gone. I made it to episode 17 before I completely ran out of fucks to give. Now when I go into a shop and see Sailor Moon merchandise there's no more "oo, do they have..." - nope, no it's "ugh, that crap." Murderers. The people behind this show are joy and happiness assassins. I'm sure some day the parties responsible will pay for their crimes against the moon kingdom, but it wont be Usagi who moon-healing-whatevers them, because she's too busy being emo for 45 mins out of every hour, only stopping to dramatically shout someone's name while standing perfectly still with her arm outstretched grasping at the air for 15 minutes. Screw her. Screw this show. |

| As a Sailor Moon fan for about 20 years now I am utterly disgusted by the fact that I share your viewpoint and that Sailor Moon Crystal is my all time biggest fear I wished I won't face one day ... a day which happened and here we are !!! So Indeed, that ONA serie is a shame, a joke, a C-R-I-M-E !! Takeuchi-sensei what is going on !! You blocked the rights of the manga and anime (she happens to own certain rights for the anime) and because of what kind of pressure did she let this happen ?!! For the sake of More Money ?? Full of animation errors and a boring cast with no personality (compared to the 90s Anime, where they actually had personalities). The manga is a million times better than this. Even the original anime with it's countless fillers is more enjoyable. |
| yeah this was shit, but then again, the original English dubbed series that I liked so much as a kid was pretty shit as well. This stuff is aimed for kids right? I mean yeah that doesn't mean they can completely drop the ball and make it this bad but as long as there's interest in Sailor Moon, and as long as newer generations find some enjoyment in Cystal hopefully they'll make a better adaption in the future. |

It's Toei, and whoever is in charge of animation is not living up to our idealized expectations. it's a web series right now, so I can't see them having the funds necessary to fully create something as good as we've hoped for, but at least appreciate the design attempts to stay true to Takeuchi's art style. Also I've seen a lot of complaints about the story, and that I really don't get, because it's a 99% FAITHFUL adaptation of the manga, which i'm pretty sure is what most of us had hoped for. It just doesn't mesh as well in an animated, 20-something minute per episode per two weeks time slot as we'd hoped it would. I just really don't understand the rush to criticize every little thing and dropping the anime without giving it a chance. With how spread out it is you're not exactly wasting any time watching it, unless you're not a big fan of SM to begin with. Idk where I'm really going with this, I guess it's just that people's reactions on the forum discussions have been bugging and confusing me for a while. Just surprising to me that half of the negative responses come from people who are way bigger fans than I am, and like, look at my username. OH ALSO, I'm really really hoping that sales going into the second season will be high enough to where the third arc will redeem all the problems the first two had. I mean just the fact that we get to see all the Outer senshi animated is exciting, but I have a good feeling about them improving come next year or whenever it airs. |

| The animation is terrible. Sailor Moon is known for being visually appealing - the anime ruins that. Wonk-eyed spaghetti-limb recolors of the same character all saying nearly the same thing! All Sailor Moon Crystal has accomplished is in convincing me that the concept of Sailor Moon is solid, but the original author sucks at life if she approves this garbage or sees it as an evolution, and that it was far better off in the hands of other people. Think of it this way, the classic story "The Lorax" is well, a classic story by Dr Seuss. The original film/show for it was also much beloved.. though it didnt stick strictly to the book. Then we have the "approved" (by Mrs. Seuss, the Dr is long dead) Lorax film that came out recently. That film is garbage. Sailor Moon Crystal is the same as the modern Lorax. It's fucking garbage. |

I think we may have talked about smc a while ago like via profile comments, but i'm pretty sure that was early on when there were only a few episodes. nothing there has really annoyed me aside from usagi's voice, and she's the (only) same VA from the original. well, she sounds old as hell now. for a 13(?) year old, i can hear that she's almost 50 years old just from her creaky voice. :C actually, the other voice actors sound pretty decent tbh. they're generic but not bad at all. like i'd rather have a power cast like free! or uta no prince-sama but this is pretty good. |
| The manga was pretty crap as well in the first place because it was published in the most rushed manner to ensure a constant stream of at least a hint at plot for Toei to continue with the 90s anime. If anything, a lot of the 90s filler made me appreciate the franchise more. Cut out Doom Tree, some meh S4 filler and actually make the last arc better and you would have the penultimate SM show. Once again: Being faithful to crap is not really a good sign. As it stands right now SMC is a 1-3/10 anime that cannot compare to seasons 1 and 3 of the original. |

Crystal may not be perfect, but I think it is a far more faithful adaption of the original manga and I am enjoying it for what it is. |
| To be honest this adaption is not what I imagine (I still dont like the character desings, like example). But What I like is that is and adaption from the manga in 99% of it. |
