I don't really mind the character design, but KyoAni's design still the best for season 3, if there's any in the future (BELIEVE).

Mostly it will, but since he's not the narrator we won't really be getting his patented Kyon-brand snark, afaik.

This is a dramatic change from the old designs. I prefer the older one better, but I can get used to the new one.
Mikuru looks bustier.
Haruhi and Kyon look like totally different people from the old designs, but are just wearing the same clothes.
Nagato looks like she lost her cold appearance.

Haruhi doesn't even wear the same clothes......
Nagato is supposed to lose her cold appearance cause she is not the same Nagato as the original universe

@Smetsys: Ok... yeah, that's a pretty significant downgrade. To be fair, though, you've chosen one of the hottest shots of Real Haruhi and are comparing it to BY FAR the worst shot of Alt Haruhi that we have seen.

These are actually truer to Puyo's designs from the manga than KyoAni's were to Itou's (from the original novel), so Satelight actually gets higher marks on that count than KyoAni did.

Lmao at the people expecting the change to be at least minimal compared to the previous Haruhi series. Expectations can be quite the double-edged sword indeed.

Personally, I could care less about the design, not that it's below average or anything. I'm just here for the ride that Nagato Yuki-chan will provide for me starting today.
