Yay, backstory for Ryou! Doesn't explain why he's such a jerk, though. :P Though I couldn't help but laugh at the fact that he somehow, as a child, memorized all of the research notes... Plot convienence to the rescue!

And also cool that Lettuce got to save the day. I guess the next Mew Aqua chapter will be Zakuro? And then Ichigo. It's been a while since I read this, so I can't really remember.

One thing that I never understood about this series was that the writer never gave a chance to write scenarios about the rest of the Mew Mews transforming into their respective animal besides Ichigo. She was the only Mew Mew to transform into an animal completely. We only got a glimpse of Lettuce transformed into a mermaid but that’s about it. So while I don’t mind Ryou’s backstory and why he also transforms into a cat too, it just would’ve been nice to see the rest of the Mew Mews transformed as well.

In fact, this series is mainly about Ichigo and not the rest of the Mew Mews. Only snippets of them. If you compare this to Sailor Moon, at the very least Sailor Moon went in depth on each arc about each Sailor Scout, so we were able to see character development with them. I wish TMM had that same energy :(
