Is this a question on which we like more or if they were to have a battle, which would win type question?

Doesn't matter. DC.

...Okay, that's not fair. If its in a fight, DC in a curbstomp. If you're asking which I like more then its DC by a hair. Well....DC by a LOT if you factor in all the screw-ups since (and including) Civil War.

DC owns! I only like MARVEL because of Spider-man and Marvel Zombies.

No reason. :-) Just seeing that I'm the only person on this thread that thinks Marvel could kick DC's ass. :-( Don't you people remember the original Marvel vs. DC...Marvel was winning before those stupid cosmic brothers merged and formed the Amalgam universe!

The characters that win those contest are usually the ones that are the most popular at the time.

I do have to admit, there are some really powerful Marvel characters like Silver Surfer or Dr. Strange.

Uh-huh. I remember that. And so do other comic fans. Even the hardcore Marvel Zombies realize those fights were total crap. Storm beat WONDER WOMAN? Wolverine beat Lobo? Both of those characters can go toe-to-toe with Superman. Storm and Wolverine, barring huge power boosts, cannot.

You know how those fights were decided? Voting. Not because the writers actually thought that or because the characters could actually win. :D

I have to vote Marvel, as DC 'killed' off my favorite character (Azrael).

It's news to me, but that sounds like it could either be very good or very bad. Here's hoping for the former!

No they aren't. Unless its a fan movie, which I could admittedly get behind.

Marvel.

I've generaly found Marvel to be better drawn and better written.

DC does have the really good animated tv shows (Justice League, Batman: the Animated Series, JLU) and the iconic characters like Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman, so I do respect them. alot.

Didn't Marvel have Rob Liefeld draw for them..? A lot? :D

Nah, I'm just kidding with you--I realize its mostly an opinion thing. I'm not really a fan of Bendis, Jeph Loeb, Paul Jenkins, Mark Millar (especially Millar), so that's probably why Marvel doesn't have much for me these days. Y'know, aside from the X-Books and stuff.

For me, it's DC. Marvel may have more contemporary characters which are easier for readers to relate to, but I like DC's characters who are very iconic in their simplicity, even taking on almost mythical proportions, which gels with the way the DC Universe likes to portray them as "Gods" on earth. While less relatable, it is much easier to weave great stories around them, and this is exemplified in DC's former Elseworlds books, showing how easy it is for their characters to be transplanted to lmost any setting and still work.

Recently, I find myself worried with the direction the company is taking, but the same can be said for Marvel as well.

Personally, I'm not a huge fan of the DC superheroes besides maybe Batman and the Martian Manhunter. The only reason I didn't give it to Marvel was because of the fantastic Vertigo series and their characters like The Crow, or Sandman. Marvel just can't quite stand up to those so that's why I like DC more. (If it was just about the superhero comics though, Marvel would win in my book.)

Marvel.
I love DC and all but the only things that came out of that that were good were Batman, and Wonder woman. Marvel on the other hand is fantastic.

Tough call for in a fight. Though I much prefer the Marvel universe to the DC one, to say which would win in a fight is really difficult. Because you'd have to include the VILLAINS as well as the heroes for both universe.

I'll admit you've got some serious heavy hitters in the Marvel universe. But it begs the question, how can you fight against Doomsday!? But I'm gonna say that if there was a hands down fight to the death between DC and Marvel, I'd have to side with DC, even though I prefer the Marvel series.

DC's got more heavy hitters, in my opinion. I mean, yeah Hulk is strong as hell but he can be stopped. Dr. Strange is great as is Silver Surfer but I don't think they can compare in strength to say, Superman or Green Lantern.

So my vote in a fight to the finish is DC, but I prefer Marvel.
I hate World of Warcraft

I generally love them pretty equally.

If you mean strength, I think DC characters are pretty overpowered compared to Marvel (in terms of quantity).

However, if you mean DC Universe vs. Marvel Universe, I'd go with the Marvel universe as a whole. Marvel has done a much better job making the entire universe flow together (and that job is pretty near-impossible to begin with). DC -TRIED- to do that with their Crisis restarts and stuff.... and failed and then backtracked and now it's just even more confusing than it was in the first place.

yeah but take just the xmen

you try to figure out who birthed/fucked/fucked in an alternate universe/birthed in an alternate universe without getting an intense migraine

yes dc has fucked up continuity right now...hardcore with all the crises and countdowns and parallel universes, but so is marvel(let's not gloss over what civil war was)

all in all as a matter of personal preference i'd say dc...green lantern...batman...superman/girl

those heroes resound with me because i've been reading them since i was a kid

but at the same time marvel has the xmen with their ups(anything not touched by millar) and their downs (ultimate xmen), and spidey being a badass, but those movies fucking making him a disney hero practically and really i mean cmon except for iron man when was the last time marvel studios made a great movie?
