THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.
----------------------------------------
I don't really like the animation in this fight, it looks like their stretching their arms from across the ring. In any case, i really didn't understand the whole concept behind how suddenly tagashi rose to such power. It didn't make any sense to me. I guess because he looks up to his sister for his burning desire for extra power? lol. This series is really weird for a boxing anime. Anyways, last episode will decide the outcome, its obvious who is going to be the victor, im sure kiku is going to come up with some genius strategy again and that will be ryuji's victory.

He overcame his fear, that's why he made that comeback. This show is ridiculous anyway.

... ridiculously fun.

For the big match of the show it is supposed to be, the use of repeated "still" moves sequences is a disappointment. But the course of the match was good.

Boxing isn't a genre: while Ashita no Joe is a series using the sport to tell a drama, Rinkake is a nekketsu (where boxe is also an excuse) who popularized (and in some cases started) the trends of "super" techniques and stories revolving entirely around a tournament (rapidly reused in other manga, notably in the same magazine), and some others in this action genre. The third famous manga using boxe to appear was Hajime no Ippo and this one is focused on the sport itself because it chose to show a boxer career (that's why comparisons between Ippo and Kurumada's series are weird).

Also, Kawai's "power up" was not really one, it was more of a mental/personality issue breaking and allowing him to play at his fullest.

Yet another predictable episode.
Cool visuals with Ryuji looking like a giant and Kawai being a puppet.
