Can we just talk abt what Bill has done with the Patriots' cap space in like 2 days? I see some light at the end of the tunnel for my team, and I'm sure it ain't just me.

DO we think the Patriots are coming back for some ass whooping, or is it in vain without TB12?

Also, there are a lot of swaps and big deals going on in the rest of the league too (what's up with the Saints btw? I don't actually understand the Taysom Hill situation), and thoughts abt those are cool too.

Haven't talked with some of y'all in a while, so what's up bros

edit: feel free to spread the word abt this club, as more ppl in it would spark some really good conversation, and we might be able to start up a fantasy league next year if we get enough leverage (depending on what ppl think).

I think that Bill is making a lot of moves for some average ass players. Jonnu Smith and Hunter Henry, I really like but I'm not a fan of pickups of Jalen Mills and Kendrick Bourne. I really do think this free agency was weak in general and receivers like Marvin Jones and Kenny Golladay should've been pursued. Resigning Cam was also a mistake in my opinion.

About the Taysom Hill situation, I think his contract is an absolute nightmare to understand and that's that. Jameis will win the starting job and I do see the saints competing although the loss of a guy like Trey Hendrickson can't be underestimated

Dollar Dollar Bill flashing the cash. Whipping out the wallet. Showing off that Cashola. It just went from hopefully we make the playoffs to Superbowl Business as usual.

The cap being lowered this season definitely put the pressure on GMs.

Just glad to see the Packers restructuring deals and finding a way to re-sign Aaron Jones. Smart cap friendly deal. Hoping Tonyan is next to be extended.

Bears signed a new QB1 in Andy Dalton. Brees retiring from the Saints.... quite a busy few days in the league.

Yeah, I agree. I've heard a lot about him having gotten used to 'the system', but that might be unfounded optimism cuz he ended up being a nice guy. As for the picks being mediocrity, Our receiver game would have had literal negative productivity without changes. I think the free agency being weak is a part of that though. I like to be hopeful for the future.

Calling Andy Dalton a QB1 doesn't sound right at all.

It's the Bears... what do you expect?
They did have a massive offer for Russell Wilson apparently but Seattle ain't trading him.

I feel for Bears fans. The best quarterback in franchise history is either Jay Cutler or Sid Luckman.

Smith and Henry compliment each other well. Smith is a great red-zone target and can block, and Henry is a nice receiver. Mills was brought in to replace Patrick Chung, and Bourne has shown that he can be a nice third option behind Edelman and Aghalor. I actually don't believe Cam was a mistake, because I actually think we're gonna trade up in this draft. Bill has never been this aggressive in free agency, and although the Patriots trading up is hella unlikely, considering how aggressive Bill has been I wouldn't be that surprised. Take someone like Trey Lance, and Cam can mentor him. It sounds like a stretch, but it's definitely a possibility, and I would love that.

So basically Taysom Hill's contract actually saved a good amount of cap space for the Saints, with 3 voidable years and a 9.7 million dollar signing bonus. Yes it's a bit complicated, but that's that rly lol. And yes, I also agree that Jameis is gonna be the starter, and hopefully that QB room in New Orleans has changed Jameis as a QB. And as for Trey Hendrickson, how much of that was really him just being opposite of Cam Jordan? Sure Hendrickson was rly good still, but I do believe a good amount of it was because he was opposite of Jordan. And they still do have Marcus Davenport, who most likely is getting the starting job back. It's gonna be weird in New Orleans next year, but definitely interesting. Gonna be like the year after Brady left.

The moves Bill made help for not only now, but for the future. The guys he signed are still relatively young, so if we do ever get a QB, which I do believe could even be this draft class, that QB, even if we don't start him this year, would have rly good weapons. We're definitely a playoff contender at this point even before the draft, and for the future depending on which QB we take, we could potentially be Super Bowl contenders soon enough

I'm a nonbeliever in Davenport, especially considering that the saints basically used 2 first round picks on a project defensive end who has barely developed.

There's only so many average receivers you can have on a team for someone to realize the corps being league standard doesn't mean much. It would be really interesting for the Pats to take a qb in the first round seeing as that hasn't really happened in my lifetime. As a person who's seen quite a few Eagle's games, Jalen Mills is a nightmare to watch. He is a liability in man and misses his assignments in zone far too much.

Yeah I agree with you. But he did show some improvement from at least his sack totals last season. But at this point sacks are kind of an overrated stat.

Yeah I haven't watched Jalen Mills really, but if there's anyone that can turn around his career it's Bill Belichick. I think him and Dugger is gonna be interesting, but I wouldn't be surprised if we get yet another safety somewhere in this draft cause McCourty is also up in age. I'm rly interested to see what they'll do with Gilmore whether they'll restructure his contract or trade him. I think he's still valuable to a team like the Cowboys or even Falcons that need severe defensive help to become playoff contenders.
