Main Cast Announced for Original Anime 'Yasuke'

Netflix Japan revealed the main Japanese cast and a teaser featuring their voice acting for LeSean Thomas' original anime series Yasuke on Wednesday. The anime will stream worldwide on Netflix beginning April 29.

Yami no Daimyou: Yoshiko Sakakibara (Akudama Drive)
Kamaru: Fusako Urabe (Wheel of Fortune and Fantasy film)
Abraham: Shigeru Ushiyama (Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu)
Morisuke: Yuu Kamio (Shin Godzilla film)
Ishikawa: Eri Kitamura (Boku no Hero Academia)
Achouja: Kenji Kitamura (Isekai Maou to Shoukan Shoujo no Dorei Majutsu)
Haruto: Shunsuke Kubozuka (Hanagatami film)
Nikita: Hiroki Nanami (Gibiate)
Ichika: Rie Tanaka (Uchuu Senkan Yamato 2199)

Note: Some romanizations may be incorrect.

LeSean Thomas (Cannon Busters) is directing the anime at MAPPA. Takeshi Koike (Redline) is the character designer, and Flying Lotus (Blade Runner: Black Out 2022) is composing the music. Thomas and Flying Lotus are credited as executive producers.

This is a dub show. Getting a high end Oscar nominated actor like Stanfield in the show is too much to pass up. Though still hope this Japanese VA does well. There's not many like him.

Man this is ridiculous. these people are complaining the show is ethnicity forced or influence by netflix. Have you ever watch afro samurai, that was fundamentally base on a manga by a Japanese artist. It was also adapted into an anime composed by rza, naturally made with no political influence. I know we live in a decade where media an entertainment industry are being manipulated politic but hey we gotta know the different which is forced and which is not. What are you even mad about. Are they even mad about this show not being historically accurate or historically false because he black. I see neither since hes using some weird magic shit in the trailer
