I loved this movie and there were many sad parts but the part that effected me the most was when he asks if he can cry and starts bawling. I find it really hard to cry in animes and i really want to watch a romance anime that will make me cry, any recommendations? Also if anyone cried in this movie, when and why. Im interested XD

I didn't cry, but it was really sad (I've only cried during like 2 movies and only one was an anime)
I'd say A Silent Voice to cry since it's the second movie to ever make me cry, but I see you've already seen it and weren't a fan😂

I'd definitely recommend Plastic Memories for a good tearjerker. Probably the most I've cried at an anime.

Didn't you make a post about how Koe no Katachi wasn't sad like 2 days ago.

And then you got banned for being toxic to people who said they found it sad?

I didn't cry during this movie either, it got close a couple times though.

I have this rule “If an anime makes me cry it immediately gets a 10”
I did not cry during IWTEYP but I can still appreciate it’s fantastic writing and directing by Shinichiro.
I COULD have cried but I didn’t. There’s many times where I can make myself cry. However if you are looking for series that makes you inevitably cry they are:
Naruto
Assignation classroom
Grave of the fireflies
These r my top 3 for new comers feeling like crying :3

I didnt cry while watching this movie but I felt sad. I think I didnt simply because the character isnt really emotional of nature and does not really react until the end. Also sakura died really too suddenly I did not have time to react quick enough.
I just watched anohana and this made me cry multiple times really a great anime and one of the most emotional

No, it was way too melodramatic. I found myself laughing actually when she died. The only show I've ever cried to is Plastic Memories. But if you want to cry with a good story, then try Clannad.

I did but the ending didn't quite get me, assuming it was the part when you're supposed to cry.

I guess I ran out of tears at that point.

For me I was surprised at how that even though they tell you she dies literally at the beginning of the movie, I still felt like I got hit by a truck when we reach the point where she does die. My tear ducts started to well up, but I didn't actually cry. Was pretty close though

I didn't. I thought the end came kind of suddenly. It was sad and I enjoyed the movie, but the way it ended caught me by surprise more than it hit me in the feels. Also when you know it is coming (like we knew she was going to die from the onset), it is easier to prepare yourself emotionally for what you are getting into.

I loved this movie and I felt that they did a really good job on building up haruki and sakuras relationship just for her to die. That was really sad and they did a good job breaking our hearts. When haruki said “can I cry now” I felt that😭

I really cried a lot. Part of it was because I was young, and this was one of my first movies of the sort.... Like maybe koe no katachi or maquia, or any other emotional drama anime. Though yeah, I didn't change and still cry🤣

I didn't cry, couldn't bond with the characters and the beginning of the movie gave away the huge spoiler of the main girl... so it was predictable. Gave it a 4 lol

I would highly recommend Maquia if you want to cry. It’s a story of motherhood which is a form of love but the film absolutely destroyed me at the end just like Pancreas.

Whilst I found the film emotional, I couldn’t cry because it didn’t feel earned; the film’s desire for an emotional response felt too forced for me. The plot “twist” was shocking but not surprising. (Although I did like the film overall!)

Yes absolutely, the way she died was so random and unexpected it really suprised me, and the way he was able to change and turn his life around because of her was beautiful.

No I didn't. But i was sad.

Mostly because the anime was staging the death of sakura from the beginning so it's rather predictable.
