So, I'm one of an opinion that most stories have a plot and then inside that plot there is some meaning put in, or somekind of a message. A lot of explanations I have seen for this aneem are just literal interpretations of the story. Has anyone thought about some non literal and more based in reality interpretations of the story?

Best I could do was a girl lashing out against the oppressive system, or being bored of a monotonous life, or not fitting into society.

And yes, I'm weird.

Addition #1: Also the first half of the episodes had the ending of her roaming the streets of a real world. I feel like it's a way of showing how she sees the world and not that the things that are happening in the show are actually happening in her life in a literal sense.

Addition #2: Also the sailor outfit getting burnt feels like symbolism for growing up and letting go of childhood. Hence she first was sad and then accepted it, and moved on. She agrees about starting to wear other outfits that would fit her better from now on.

The word you're looking for is themes and you definitely have a couple of them there. Kill la Kill is definitely about a girl that doesn't fit in and an oppressive system.

Past the main plot with the clothing and what that means, I don't think Kill la Kill was designed to have many stories and plots within it. It's supposed to be more of an action-packed, Ecchi bulletstorm that you put on for a good time and no deeper meaning.

Majority of people I've talked to about this show DO look at it entirely based on the 'reality interpretations' you mentioned.

There's hardly any literal plot to be found in Kill la Kill tbh. I don't see how anyone would like the show if they didn't understand the subtle brushes against teenage issues like being rebellious and coming of age.
Senketsu's death moved me to tears just because it symbolised a highschooler finally letting go of her school life and moving on. I haven't really seen anyone talking about the plot.
