DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- This show is Nagoya's response at promoting anime in its region: Chukyo TV (local TV), CG animation studio Sublimation, and both the production staff team (plus sponsors) and VAs are also based in Nagoya. It's no wonder (almost) everybody looks new to the anime industry. https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2018-10-01/chukyo-tv-sublimation-produce-shikizakura-original-tv-anime-series/.137523 Another Mecha show, and I know what you're thinking: We are very used to see a lot of Isekai shows per season, now is it time for Mecha shows to follow that trend? Asaka's OP and May'n Ed is...OK? Definitely feels that way. This gives me the exact same feels akin to Sakura Wars, only if it was made sci-fi with the spineless MC Kakeru Miwa getting roped into a precariously strange situation of Onis attacking innocent people. Add in the Super Sentai similar rhetoric plus the usual Sanzigen-like CGI production, and I kinda can put two and two together on this. Definitely an intriguing piece of work that's quite different from the usual Tokyo-based production. |

| If Tesla Note had an animation like this one, it would be more acceptable. Compared to last season's 3D anime is still lower quality. Overall feels like a good anime to pass. |

| It still amazes me how "proper" shows look as good if not worse than net shows did 10 years ago. Kinda meh but I'll give it a couple more episodes. |
| Just an okay for me so far. CGI animation is a bit weird as always but we've all seen a lot worse. |

| Idk why i decide to watch this. Because i think i might find something light and fun. For those purpose, this one seems fun enough. Standard mecha story with the element of super sentai, standard-to-low cgi, standard mc, everything just standard. Though i found the interaction so far fun. So, yeah, will add this to my watch list to enlightened my dark days. |

| Nice atmospheric beginning, the soft music juxtaposed with the action at the centre, leading into a very strong OP. Nice interactions and dynamics, and excellent VA work, especially for newcomers. I think the tourist was a native English speaker, also, I remember hearing the production was looking for a foreigner. That's helpful, it's a nice bit of immersion to the show. Direction was quite tight for most of it, but there were a few points that didn't land too well - like Ibara's fight with the Oni, far too much zooming in and out, or when he and Ryou lunged at each other, it seemed to cut shots slightly too quick. As an essentially all-new project, a very good start. |

| I guess the writers just watched Jujutsu Kaisen and wanted to make their own version of it. The MC design is a complete rip off of Jujutsu Kaisen's Itadori. He gets super power by merging with a super evil guy and he tries to control that evil guy, while using that super power to fight off other bad guys. They didn't even bother trying to hide this fact by completely ripping of the character design of the MC by just giving him the "high school uniform worm over a red hoodie" look.  I guess if you enjoy CG mecha sentai anime, you might enjoy this, but otherwise, I would not recommend. |
| Is there anyone here who watched vtuber named Miya Kimino? She was very active in promoting Shikizakura and appears in the show. She is that tiny AI hologram talking to foreign tourist in the museum. Hanjo-Hanjo is her catchphrase. I am watching this mostly because of her. |
| i was actually pleasantly surprised by this. i had low expectations. while the art isn't the best, there is some stellar choreography and direction here. the opening was pretty sick as well. |
| Not a big fan of the cgi animation. Seems very stiff at times. The xenomorph headed looking thing looked kinda cool though. Not sure I get what was happening much in the episode though… Looking forward to the next one maybe? |

| Kinda disappointed, judging from the cover I had high hopes for this anime and was excited to watch, then I finally got round to it and.. Whilst the cgi isn't the worst I've ever seen, it's really just not appealing to the eye at all. I thought the cgi on the robot sentai guys was decent, but the characters were just poorly done. |

Not only is he a little more likeable than Itadori but you act like anime doesn't do that every year like it happens everyday and some "rip-offs" are better than the OG |
