THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.
----------------------------------------
Hmm? No episode 3 discussion? I guess it's because it's an older anime so people don't bother commenting since there won't really be a discussion going on.

It looks like to me Robin can control her powers, but I guess not as much as I thought since Amon is worried about it. I'm surprised he hasn't yelled at her yet for causing so many fires. There hasn't been much character interactions between Robin and the others, but it was nice seeing her talking to Michael. It was cute how she brought donuts and made coffee for him. And eventually he told her how he got there. It's sad how he hacked for fun but then ended up with no freedom, stuck inside the office. I'm interested to learn about the other team members, except Dojima who seems a little insensitive...

I don't think she can control her powers very well at all . . . I mean she lit some barrels of oil like that and let the guy get away, if she could control her powers I'm going to guess she would have the intelligence not to light oil barrels that are conveniently placed right beside her allies. Anyways this series is kind of . . . Well I'm just praying it picks up.

I like it, even if it might seem to be a bit slow! But since there are 26 eps it's to be expected that things will take some time to develop! >>

Yeah, Michael's story is pretty saddening! I was really shocked to learn that he can't leave the office! Okay, he can if he asks the boss, but still! He's like a bird locked up in a cage, really sad! T.T He wasn't even aiming to hurt anybody with his actions yet he had to pay for his curiosity!!! :|

Since that was the first time Robin actually got to have an honest conversation with one of her new colleagues/partners (if I can call them that) I guess there are more to come!! ^^

Yeah, something is weird with her powers! I mean she randomly sets everything on fire....still they sent her as a replacement! Maybe she isn't fully aware of her own ability but possesses extreme power so that's why they chose exactly her for the job!

I had to laugh when she was about to chase the guy then the barrel next to her exploded. Very smart haha. I was kind of expecting the whole gang to scold her for the screw up. Amon must be a really patient guy.

Underwhelming episode. There wasn't really much mystery about why the guy was preying on witches (nor that Michael was a conscripted hacker for that matter), and that oil barrel thing was idiotic. Hoping she has more powers than just *fire! fire!*

Seems like she can create fire but it doesn't move to her will like say Ace from One Piece.

Having a vampire like guy was interesting, but the episode was very slow paced.

curiosity killed the cat.. poor Michael.
Dojima is annoying as fuck i already hate her. I actually liked how Robin interacted with michael. And it's seem that she's not a witch since she has to say something before using her power.

It's not that old is it? Really wondering why this anime seems to have fallen into obscurity so much. It's rather dificult to find too, and there are no widescreen versions available.

I really should have picked this one up earlier. I'm loving the overall style, especially the art.

Even this time as in a story by Agatha Christie, the narrative takes all the time to tell the story and in the meantime you start to know the character of Michel. Lentissimo to make you sleep, I noticed, as someone else did, that Robin is not scolded for his work and that she seems not to be in its dazzling form given the mistakes it makes, understandable if we think it is from little who works in the team. The soundtrack is catchy, pity that the case was so simple to solve.

The same thing is happening to me too with a certain anime series, but I think users do not comment on certain anime just because they do not consider them attractive and do not give them an opportunity.

This episode was a bit slow but the entire anime progresses slower than you'd expect probably due to the 26 episodes provided for character development. They make Robin seem so mysterious though but i guess its Amon i'm really interested in.

Robin's antics remind me of those of a stray cat. She just wanders around and looks at whatever she finds interesting. Very cute.

Michael's computer just shows strings of letters haha. Nice hacker we got here. So is he basically a slave of the boss? Creepy. What a shady organization.

Robin was kind of cute in this episode. Going back to sleep immediately after Michael told her to wake up, touching everything at the crime scene and talking to Michael towards the end.

I initially thought Robin was supposed to be one of those highly competent prodigy type characters but nothing so far suggests that she is. She is powerful but it's clear that she's not particularly great at using her powers or she's just not experienced enough, which does the beg the question as to why she showed up as a replacement.

For Robin supposedly being 15 they sure go out of their way to show some side boob fairly often.

If I had to hazard a guess, it's that Robin's powers are wonky because she's not used to holding back. Of course, they aren't particularly showing us too much of Robin's perspective. So it could be her inexperience. But, assuming she wasn't forced to not kill in the past, and now she is -- and fire is so deadly. I'd imagine it's hard to not kill with fire.

why make her 15? I have idea why they do that in Chainsawmen its the same thing the mc is 15 and the rest of the characters over 20. Make the mc 18 at least.

Even if it makes the plot on the face of it slightly less believable, they probably do it, both in Witch Hunter Robin and in many other instances, to cast a wider net of appealing to the audience, based in the belief that a series will attract more fans or attention from those who better identify with its main character or characters, and that a prospective audience member will more easily do so if it reflects their own demographic. Since 14 - 15 is around the age when you start high school in Japan and a lot of other countries, and a lot of young viewers who are high school students watch anime or consume the associated media (like manga and light novels), I think this is why a number of these main characters are "aged down".

i agree with a lot what you said but the casting a wider net.
If anything they discourage older customers and target only the demographic of 14-17 crowd. Big reason why I read a lot of Manwha the characters a lot of times are adults.

This is legit one of my fav animes and probably always will be. Yes it starts off slow and the first 10 or so episodes are kinda just going about the daily workings of STNJ but i'm telling you it picks up like crazy the second half and it is such a fun ride. Just give it a chance :D, you won't regret it!

Was about to say Robin's powers were too erratic and lethal to be useful to the group, but then she dealt with that ominous cloud of insects in no time. Hope she gets more precise control over the flames soon.

I just want to know how does Robin move around in this long dress without tripping? Wouldn't wearing a midi dress be better?

If this was a 12 or 13 episode show, I would've dropped this anime because of Yurika.

The episodes are a bit on the slower side, but I don't mind, I quite like the mood.
