| Hello everyone. Today, the devs have noticed an abnormal spike in failed requests to the API. The whole /v2/* endpoint was temporarily blocked to investigate the issue. | You can check https://api.myanimelist.net/v2 , https://api.myanimelist.net/v2/manga and https://api.myanimelist.net/v2/anime personally. If they give errors it means apps can't use them either. Except the official app that talks to the site directly probably. |

| Huh, it is. Tachiyomi has its tracking working. Aniyomi seems to have some trouble with authentication, but that part will probably get back soon. |

In my case it seems to be blocking Mihon useragent, but only if its "Mihon v0.16.3 (app.mihon)" or "Mihon v0.16.2 (app.mihon)" already did some spoofing to test, and just using those 2 i get a CloudFront 504 error after 90 seconds, already tried with VPN on NL just to get another node and the same issue, so i think i should wait until it's fixed or Mihon pushes the version number (or switch to mihon previews.... but i'm too lazy)

@Shadow_Reaper13 just change any letter from the useragent or remove the whole useragent header and it works, i added my account back on mihon thanks to that but titles can't update because i won't use a mitm proxy permanently on my phone.
edit: even did a test switching the useragent faking 0.16.4 and it worked

@Shadow_Reaper13 not on the app settings, it uses just "Mihon v{version} (app.mihon)" on the MAL queries (didn't test with another service) seems to be hardcoded so you can't change it

| Changing the User-Agent string (in Aniyomi there's a setting for it in Advanced Settings) worked, so apparently MAL authentication allows logging it, but dies mid-way because it doesn't like that Aniyomi's stated User-Agent is set to Windows 10 by default (which is curious considering it's not a Windows app, or maybe there's something else to the rest of the string). So copypasing the "Linux; Android 13" User-Agent name as suggested helped to enable syncing, finally. Not sure on whose end would it be to check on it, MAL's or apps devs', but it is fixable by the user at least. |
