| So, Eiser’s backstory comes to a conclusion. I really enjoyed this chapter. Seeing what Eiser went through before meeting Serena, as well as knowing what Serena had gone through, really explains why they were so hostile to one another for so long. We’ve always seen Serena’s perspective, but now we can understand why Eiser had been the way he was. My view of him has completely shifted - he’s a broken soul. The developing love and trust between the two will surely help them both heal from their traumas. Iansa was wise to arrange this marriage. I love that we learn of Harold and Geoffric being cousins. That’s a nice touch, and ties up the connections between Harold, Eiser, and Iansa. In fact, Eiser’s backstory ties up all of the finer details between all characters, including Diah and Victor. Also, I don’t remember if it was confirmed earlier in the story, but was Diah actually pregnant with Victor’s child? Or was that simply a rumour? |
